Waste of time and money
I spent over half of my retainer and then had to hire another attorney because Jill was always "on trial" and unable to meet deadlines that she herself offered. We had the same conversations over again because so much time would pass in between when we talked and when she was supposed to produce the ...
It is dissapointing that my client's expectations were not met in this case in the month and a half after being retained. It certainly was not without a sincere and signfiicant effort to put together a settlement offer within that time. It is important to set deadlines and expectations together, and to understand that divorce is a process that involves discovery and negotiation. While it is possible to get divorced within a short amount of time, do not be discouraged or disappointed if it does not proceed to settlement within a month Divorce is a difficult practice and while I pride myself on reaching settlment in 90% of my cases, trials are demanding.
