Waste of time and money

I spent over half of my retainer and then had to hire another attorney because Jill was always "on trial" and unable to meet deadlines that she herself offered. We had the same conversations over again because so much time would pass in between when we talked and when she was supposed to produce the ...resulting paperwork. Be sure to ask if she has time for your case before hiring her.

It is dissapointing that my client's expectations were not met in this case in the month and a half after being retained. It certainly was not without a sincere and signfiicant effort to put together a settlement offer within that time. It is important to set deadlines and expectations together, and to understand that divorce is a process that involves discovery and negotiation. While it is possible to get divorced within a short amount of time, do not be discouraged or disappointed if it does not proceed to settlement within a month Divorce is a difficult practice and while I pride myself on reaching settlment in 90% of my cases, trials are demanding.

Most Competent, Trustworthy, & Overall GREAT attorney

Jill Peters represented me in a post-dissolution matter in 2004/05 and I FOOLISHLY let her go! I have had several other attorneys since that time and have learned a great deal about what it is to be a GREAT attorney. Especially in matrimonial situations; it is difficult to find an attorney that is a...s intelligent, ethical, understanding, candid, and responsive as Jill. She is highly recommended and try to obtain her services before it's too late and your money has been wasted! Sincerely!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
