Patrick helped me deal with an international "custody" and parenting case. The situation was quite complicated dealing with European vs American laws. It was a pretty black and white situation legally, but the US judge wasn't seeing it that way. As anyone can imagine, a divorce can be scary, debilitating, financially draining and an extremely difficult time. His command of the law and legal needs was outstanding, and honestly - I was terrified of getting cleaned out, but Patrick helped me negotiate a deal that allowed me to move on and keep peace of mind. He was always available, extremely conscious of billing time and hourly rate, which can get expensive and made me feel, given the situation, that this would be handled in the best way possible. This could have gone multiple ways, but Patrick helped me get - in my mind - through a situation that could have been much, much worse.

Patrick handled my divorce case in 2011. It was an amicable split (as much as any divorce can be), and we went through a mediator, but I really relied on Patrick to handle the big picture items. He even helped us with the parenting agreement far more than the mediator did. I hired Patrick for a very messy long divorce and he was very helpful and patient throughout the entire process.
