I have had 2 consultations with Mr. Jeelani in Feb 2024 and Aug 2024. In both consultations, he seemed to favour an L-1 visa over an H1-B, citing a rapid path to a green card for an Indian citizen. This advice is only valid if I was a candidate for an L1-A visa, which I am not because I am a recent g...raduate (Mr. Jeelani was aware of this, but suggested an L-1 visa nevertheless during both consultations). When confronted about his poor advice, he said perhaps my employer would be willing to give me a managerial position, even though in reality, this is rarely possible. After several questions on this matter, he eventually gave me the correct advice in the second consultation. I was disappointed that he misinformed me during our first consultation. He did give me some good advice regarding the (now defunct) 2-year residency requirement for a J-1 visa, and he is knowledgeable, so he is great at answering specific questions. Overall, even though he is knowledgeable, I do not recommend Mr. Jeelani unless you want quick answers to highly specific questions. He does not seem to be able to deeply understand the context of your issues and offer the best advice for your specific needs.

Personal experience of My Two-Month Relationship with Jeelani Law Firm Initial Consultation and Engagement: Two months ago, I initiated contact with Jeelani Law Firm for assistance with filing a Writ of Mandamus. My initial consultation with the firm seemed promising; they were responsive, profess...ional, and assured me that they had the expertise needed to handle my case effectively. Based on this consultation, I decided to move forward with their services. Payment and Communication Issues: Shortly after our consultation, I received an invoice from Jeelani Law Firm for $4,000 to cover the cost of handling my case. I promptly submitted the payment, expecting the firm to begin work on my case immediately. However, after the payment was made, the only communication I received from the firm were a couple of generic, copy-paste emails that lacked any specific details about my case or the steps they were taking to address it. This lack of substantive communication raised concerns for me, so I reached out to the firm to ask if someone would be properly handling my case. Unfortunately, I received no response. Attempt to Resolve Issues: Frustrated by the lack of communication, I requested a refund of the $4,000 I had paid, as it was clear to me that the firm was not providing the services I had been promised. Once again, my request was met with silence. In a further attempt to resolve the issue, I contacted the office and spoke with an employee named Hola Wise. The call lasted about 20 seconds before she abruptly dropped the call, stating, "I can't talk with you." This interaction left me even more concerned about the firm's professionalism and commitment to their clients. Review of Employee Feedback and Conclusion: In an effort to understand what might be going on at Jeelani Law Firm, I reviewed employee feedback on Glassdoor. What I found was alarming. Former employees described a chaotic work environment, with poor management and a lack of structure. The reviews painted a picture of a firm struggling internally, which likely contributed to the poor service I experienced. Next Steps: Given the lack of response and the unsatisfactory service, I have decided to take legal action. I am filing a complaint with the Bar Association to address the ethical concerns and initiating a claim in Small Claims Court to recover the $4,000 I paid. This experience has been deeply disappointing, and I hope that by taking these actions, I can at least recover my financial loss and prevent others from experiencing similar issues with this firm.

I hired them in February of 2021 for a birth abroad and is passport. A process I was told is very easy to do alone, but I hired them because I thought they were professional. I got an appointment in October 2021 at US embassy in Mexico. When I arrived they told me to ask my lawyer for a refund becaus...e I did not begin the process correctly. When I asked the office on this matter they blamed the US embassy for changing the requirements. I wasted time and money. Today I finally got another appointment and still was told I needed extra documents even after I made sure Jeelani law firm gave me all the requieres documents. I was told at the Mexican US Embassy that my lawyer is incompetent and i should ask for a refund. Jeelani also charged me extra for a translation that was not even necessary. I feel like I was hustled and I do not recommend this place to anyone that seeks professional legal advice for immigration.

Our children’s immigrant visa case was held up in Germany for administrative processing and Mr Jeelani got it moving and approved by filing a mandamus complaint. If your immigrant visa immigration case of any kind is delayed don’t wait and contact Mr Jeelani. Competent attorney with a competent team... will get the job done period. Mrs Hila Wise the paralegal was great as well. He is also very responsive.

Prior to engaging Mr. Jeelani, my wife and I used the services of a highly regarded immigration law firm for the purpose of obtaining a waiver for her J1 Visa. After two years, we were no closer to that goal, and extremely frustrated with that firm’s lack of responsiveness, success, and with the amo...unt of money spent without a result of any kind. We found Mr. Jeelani to professional, responsive, and compassionate, and to have an impressive depth of knowledge regarding immigration law. He and his staff always responded to our questions quickly and thoroughly, which was in stark contrast to our previous experience. They were very helpful and patient in assisting us to fill out and file the necessary paperwork, and were successful in obtaining the J1 Visa waiver and subsequent Green Card for my wife. We are extremely grateful to Mr. Jeelani and his staff, and would recommend his services without reservation.
