9 months ago I met with Mark Brent regarding filing a reduction of maintenance to my ex. I was currently paying her $2,900 a month (and had been for 10 years). At that initial meeting Mark wrote down the number $1,387 on a piece of paper and said, “I’m not going to guarantee I can get you that nu...mber but I will get you close”. After 9 months, the only activity that has occurred is Mark invoicing me just over $12k in his fees and the judge recently granting her attorney another $7,500 in his fee’s. I met with Mark to discuss the current status of the case - he then advised me that we accept opposing councils offer to only reduce maintenance to $2450 per month. I spent $20 grand to save $450 a month for the next two years (I turn 65 in 2 years). I decided it was in my best interests to find a new Attorney to represent me in this maintenance review case. I was highly disappointed with Mark’s performance - opposing council was 3 steps ahead of him the entre 9 months.
