He's keeping me on track and doesn't like...I've tried out many different attorneys before hiring him and at first it was weird for me to hand over my life to another person but I can see as I'm in my discovery phase that he wants as much info as he can to do t h e best job he can...organisation is key... I hired Mark to represent me when I sought an Order of Protection against an abusive family member. I really needed the peace of mind of having someone represent me, as I know nothing about law and would probably crumple under the pressure if I tried to represent myself. Mark made me feel much better about the situation. He laid out all the facts for me and went over what would happen in court. When the court date came, he knew exactly what to say to the judge, and I really wonder if I would have won if Mark had not been representing me. 9 months ago I met with Mark Brent regarding filing a reduction of maintenance to my ex. I was currently paying her $2,900 a month (and had been for 10 years). At that initial meeting Mark wrote down the number $1,387 on a piece of paper and said, “I’m not going to guarantee I can get you that number but I will get you close”. After 9 months, the only activity that has occurred is Mark invoicing me just over $12k in his fees and the judge recently granting her attorney another $7,500 in his fee’s. I met with Mark to discuss the current status of the case - he then advised me that we accept opposing councils offer to only reduce maintenance to $2450 per month. I spent $20 grand to save $450 a month for the next two years (I turn 65 in 2 years). I decided it was in my best interests to find a new Attorney to represent me in this maintenance review case. I was highly disappointed with Mark’s performance - opposing council was 3 steps ahead of him the entre 9 months.
