Biography
Mike Agruss is the founder and managing attorney of 844SeeMike Personal Injury Lawyers (Mike Agruss Law), which he opened in March 2012. He represents injured people and consumers, never insurance companies or businesses. As Mike puts it, "You are either a plaintiff's lawyer or you are not. I am 100% a plaintiff's lawyer."
His personal injury practice covers car, truck, rideshare (Uber and Lyft), motorcycle and bicycle accidents, dog bites, slip-and-fall injuries, and nursing home abuse and neglect. For consumers, he handles debt collection harassment, robocalls and credit report problems. Individually and through his firm, he has settled more than 8,000 consumer rights cases.
Mike has been licensed in Illinois since 2004 and in California since 2008. He was admitted to the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 2006 and to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in 2017, and he is admitted in federal district courts in 14 states. He has tried eight jury trials and one bench trial to verdict, and has arbitrated, mediated and pretried dozens of cases.
He was selected to Super Lawyers for 2019 through 2027, and to Super Lawyers Rising Stars in 2016 and 2017.
Mike earned his J.D. in 2004 from The John Marshall Law School (now the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law), where he was Executive Editor of the Journal of Information Technology & Privacy Law. He earned his B.A. in Law and Society from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1999.
