Single mother looking for justice...

I hired Alonzo in July 2013 when my ex left me with our 4 yr old child & did not take any financial responsibility for her. After 9 yrs together, we were never married so it made it more difficult to make him do so. When I first meet Alonzo he was upfront, told me what he would do for me & it would b...e simple. Needless to say, 19 month later, I have received $3000 from my ex towards child support but the real kicker here is that me ex received a large settlement from an injury & Alonzo did nothing as he said he would to secure some funds for my child or for all the back child support, medical, day care expenses. It took him a year to go to court for me, he cancelled 5 scheduled hearings the first year, told him I would report him to ARDC unless he did an emergency hearing of which we went to & without my consent gave my ex's attorney another extension so a year later my child & I was still in the same position we were in before we hired him. Alonzo had told me be lucky I work & I have income coming in cause there are people in worse cases then mine. Yes I work, make a OK living, but it is a parents responsibility to provide & support their child & it was Alonzo responsibility to have the courts make the father do so, Alonzo did nothing to secure funds for my child so she is the one that will scarfice while her daddy is living life off his settlement. Needless to say, he no longer is my attorney, I reported him to ARDC. DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY!!!

Don Not Hire this Atty

Terrible Lawyer, Very Lazy, never returns calls, or email, and lacks communication, late to court dates, or sends his partner, I would send him emails, with No response other than his assistant was out with an illness and they were busy, Not my fault! I had sent him the same email once a week for a ...month No response. He got aggravated with what I was asking for in my case, working against me. He ended up dropping me as a client cause I didn't pay him, He got a retainer and $ 100.00 of my money and that is all he is getting. on top of it when he sends me the bill its not even correct. He is very unprofessional and all over the place, sloppy. court was always a joke! needless to say I hired another attorney who got the job done in a few months apposed to Alonzo's 1 year of doing absolutely nothing.

Not good in family law.

My ex took my child out of state so I hired Alonzo with helping me have her returned. My ex never showed up to any court date. The matter dragged on for over two years. He never dealt with matters urgently and I would learn about court dates through the courts website. When I would show it would just... get continued. Last court date he got a support order for the amount of 0 dollars. After that, I got a letter from him saying his job was done and good luck in the future. That's nice Alonzo, but what about the custody/visitation order you filed? I would have gladly paid support, I just wanted to see my son (which I still haven't in three years and have resorted in filing motions myself. Funny enough, I got the mother to show by myself and have been present in front of the judge conversing about the case more than I had with him as a lawyer). It honestly seemed like the process dragged on so long that he forgot why I hired him. Side note: one reason why it dragged on longer than it should have was because he couldn't make it at least two times (each continuance causes another month or two delay) and he also had another lawyer show to a few dates. He didn't make me aware of it so while I was waiting for him it was unexpected when she presented herself when my case was called. She however was much nicer. Wish I knew her contact information. I'd recommend her.

IRRESPONSIBLE ATTORNEY

This is the 1st time I write a review of an attorney. This person is so irresponsible, never gets back to you, and when he does he is in a hurry in which you can't even ask a question. He tells you he will handle something in court and that will call you..... Yeah, sit and wait...... One of the worst... things is that he misses a lot of your court dates. And that always looks bad in front of a judge. He lies a lot. I used to think I was the only one passing thru this but as I see I'm not. He will hold your case for a long time and the worst with out you knowing anything because he doesn't inform you of any status. You have to keep on calling him. His secretaries oh wow they never know anything, they are rude. I guess they receive a lot of calls daily with clients that are not satisfy with the process of their case. People don"t hire him if you don't want to be in stress. Keep in mind there are many attorneys out there that i'm sure they will work your case better.
