Joel Brown repeatedly lied to me and my family about what kind of plan he had for my custody case. Everytime we got into court he'd show up the very second court started and was sweating and making mistakes like a hungover college kid. He told me not to inform the judge or DCFS about the proof I had ...of my ex doing coke. Judge Dobbs laughed in Joel's face numerous times for the ridiculous motions he'd file. The judge said he'd never seen such a incompetent mess when referring to the motion to split tax years. When talking to the lawyer representing my ex he asked her if she'd like to do sum dirty accounting. Meaning they were going to get drunk while preparing my child support. No surprise to find out he messed that up and gave the circuit clerk the wrong county ID number. When I asked him about y my daughter hadn't gotten support in 4 weeks he told me it was my ex's fault. Then later when my ex brought this up in front of the judge old drunk Joel Browns song and dance changed. He then said it was important for ME to figure out what was wrong. Joel will do u wrong but it's not his fault, he's deff got some kind of mental handicap. He deff shouldn't b practicing law and hopefully this review stops someone from becoming a victim of Joel Brown.

Joel represented me on an OP case in 2019. He was not familiar with the law on multiple occasions and was not prepared in court. He failed to bring in a witness telling me he didn't have time although I gave him the name and phone number. He failed to subpoena documents needed as I requested. Wh...ile questioning a witness, he failed to identify discrepancies. He misspoke often, struggled with names, and did not know what the word "hear say" meant. He also lost a thumb drive that was to be given to me. He is very disorganized.
