Michael John Sweeney

Sweeney is an excellent public defender and he should be paid as a personal lawyer because he is just that good! Sweeney was always very professional and always kept me updated with any concerns or questions I had. He got me the best deal when I felt I was treated unjustly. I got my license back for ...my DUI that was dropped. When I had finals for school and I couldn't make it, he appeared for me. I'll be the first to admit that I was leary of having to use a Public Defender on a DUI charge in DuPage County. But, fate teamed me up with Michael Sweeney & I couldn't of had a better Advocate if I shelled out thousands & thousands on one for hire! He's intelligent, responsive and at the top of his... game. Mr. Sweeney showed to me that he had vast knowledge of his field and he did everything he could in his power to get the best outcome for me and he did that in spades as I was hit with a dui charge for smoking cannabis and had admitted to doing so. Right off the bat the odds were weighed against us a...nd in favor of the prosecution but he saw some discrepancies and was able to show the court that although i had admitted to smoking cannabis it did not show that it impaired my ability to drive. This is a PUBLIC DEFENDER! that had a million cases around the same time as mine but didn't let that get in the way of my own. I couldn't recommend this man enough and would give him my highest recommendation for saving me huge fines, classes and community service and walking away with just a meager speeding ticket. He knows his stuff and will be honest to you if he thinks you can beat it take him on his word, trust me i could of caved and pleaded guilty but instead went to court with him, fought it and won!
