James Christopher Olita

Jim is an excellent Attorney. If you need a shark in court he is your man in Kane County. He knows the law regarding custody issues and his writing is excellent. When other attorneys want to drag things out , he will not oblige and he will push things forward getting things on track. He's sharp a...nd excellent in the courtroom as well. I watched him bury the opposing attorney who at first tried to bully him, and he won't be bullied. One of the few attorneys in the area who could take on another major shark in the area that everyone else hated going against; then, that attorney 6 months in, bitterly ended up dropping my ex as a client which almost brought tears of joy to my eyes. Jim's one of the good ones.

Mr. Olita has been very unprofessional in the time we've hired him. He doesn't not respond to any communication in a timely matter, if even at all. We reach out and hear nothing. The court date before the last, he didn't even show up or notify us. This last court date, Mr. Olita seemed confused about... whether he did or didn't respond to a new motion by the other party. Some other issues arose and he made no attempt to defend his client. He was provided all the info needed to address these issues but when we got to court he remained silent. I would not recommend his services. He's made promises that have fell short of any expectations and seems he doesn't have our best interest at hand. We paid 5k for a motion that was drafted and filed but we are 3 court dates away from that and he hasn't brought it up since then, while the other party has filed numerous and seems those are precedent and are the only focus at this time. I feel like I've been scammed

Jim worked through my difficult divorce which took a few years to complete because my ex moved out of state and was hiding assets, missing appointments, etc. Even with every hurdle my ex and opposing attorney's threw at him, he remained professional and kept me informed all along the way. I came ou...t of the situation ahead, with dignity, the majority of the property, and primary custodial custody of the children. When the new girl figures my ex out, I can make a recommendation.
