Jonathan Minkus

recently hired attorney Jonathan Minkus for representation on a pending case in Lake County. Prior to calling Jonathan in my distress, I had called a few different lawyers and to be perfectly honest... the majority of them gave me little to no hope. Several informed me that frankly due to the severit...y of my charges they were doubtful that they could do much to help me in this case. My case was in fact pretty severe as I had been driving on a revoked license for prior DUI offenses. That revocation happened more than a decade ago. Since that time a lot had changed including my current sobriety. However, the law is the law and I had been caught without a valid Driver’s License. I called Jonathan in desperation, a friend had recommended him. My wife Joanna and I called on a Saturday and he was out golfing as I remember, but answered the phone. I remember he told me that he could meet me the following day. “It’s Sunday?” I said, he simply said “I know you’ve got a pretty severe case here, I like the sound of your voice and I would like to meet and talk with you.” We meet Jonathan that next Sunday at his office in Skokie. What struck me about Jonathan was his direct approach and the sense of urgency in which he started to make things happen. He told me that he couldn’t promise anything and that the charges were in fact extremely severe and that he had been around for a long time (30yrs.) “All we can do is go for it and hope for the best”.He then stated that he would be honored to take my case if I decided to chose him to represent me. Honored to take my case? I thought. I hired him and at some point shortly after our first court date together my anxiety started to come down. Jonathan made us feel at ease. A few things about Jonathan that I learned a along the way. He values his client, he values his time and he tells you only exactly what you need to know, when it is pertinent to your case. I learned a lot about patience and my wife and I put our faith in him because we knew he was going to do what he could to represent me. The outcome was incredibly favorable and I will always be grateful of the service Jonathan provided. Jonathan Minkus is exceptional. With poise and confidence he manages to make no promises and at the same time make the client feel like they are in the best hands. It’s hard to find people that you feel are honest with you and that are willing to take risk for reward, I recommend Jonathan Minkus.

I almost never write reviews and when Mr. Minkus just finished representing my brother and I looked for him online I felt like I had to write this. Yes, he is not the cheapest lawyer around but he did exactly what he said he would do. My brother was being deported and we were sent to Mr. Minkus to tr...y and fix his criminal record. From the moment we met with Mr. Minkus we felt completely comfortable with him. He gave us a good idea of how long the process would take and what it would cost and he actually finished it in less time and did it for he told us it would cost. He also was completely successful. Our entire family very highly recommends him.

I hired Mr. Minkus a month ago after a convoluted incident that left me with criminal trespass and criminal damage to property, possibly pending a burglary charge. The confessions I had written and the police notes that were taken while I was in custody painted a very bad portrait of me and the syste...m likely would have given me a severe sentence if not for Mr. Minkus. He was able to negotiate with the ASA assigned to my case and ultimately the criminal damage to property charge was dropped and I was given a very lenient supervision sentence, allowing me to expunge it by July of next year. This man has done more than I can ever imagine to help me and I am extremely grateful for his work. I would recommend him to anyone who's in trouble with the law and needs a lawyer who can go above and beyond what he's asked to do.
