Candice came into a very contentious situation and was able to finalize the divorce within a matter of months. She was very good at concentrating on the actual details of the case without being caught up in the antics of my ex spouse and his attorney. Her knowledge of the law and her experience medi...ating divorces was instrumental in negotiating a settlement. Mostly, Candice was able to help me think clearly and plan for my future. She worked tirelessly reading and writing emails and crafted a settlement that had my best interest in mind. She was very thorough and rewrote the settlement agreement many times and was putting in items to make the agreement as tight as possible up to the very last minute. Already her attention to detail has paid off allowing me to live my new life worry free. Finally she accompanied me to court and helped me navigate the last minute stress and anxiety of dealing with the court system. In fact, having her handle my divorce and settlement has changed my life.

I selected Candice for my collaborative divorce attorney after meeting with several other attorneys. My ex-husband and I decided to use collaborative lawyers because we were interested in working together on our settlement rather than against each other. We had an unusual situation in that we had ...decided on a birdnesting arrangement and knew there would be a lot of issues to work through that most likely wouldn’t come up in a traditional divorce proceeding. The process went smoothly for the most part and although all of us were working together toward a settlement, I was also confident that Candice was looking out for my best interest. The meetings were tedious at times and Candice did a good job of keeping everyone on topic and moving forward. I did feel, however, a few times during our meetings that we spent time going over things previously discussed. We also worked with a divorce coach who helped immensely in thinking through all the details of our complex living arrangement. I believe we wouldn’t be in the position we are today if it hadn’t been for collaborative law. We are still birdnesting over two years later, and aside from a couple small annoyances, everybody is happy – most importantly our children. I would highly recommend Candice and the collaborative approach. She was easy to talk to, kept me informed and always prepared me for the next step of the process.

Candice represented me and my interests in an exceedingly professional manner. Given there was an opposite side of the conference table we worked at that had a now ex-spouse and her (non-collaborative practicing, litigation-friendly) attorney, Candice first worked hard to understand my story and my values as it related to the ultimate settlement of my marriage matters. Over the entire course of our work Candice listened to my evolving story, asked insightful questions, listened closely to my answers, and presented back a cohesive approach for our group discussions. In working with the other parties Candice strove to keep the collaborative process valid and effective for us all, this despite the seemingly insistence of others who may have tended towards arguments vs. results. In addition, her willingness to work with my beliefs and values for certain parts of the final settlement of my marriage while also offering her professional experience and practical advice was greatly appreciated. In the end, I could not have been more pleased with our work together. Looking back, my goals were attained and I feel strongly that Candice's work was a material part of that success. I hold my head up high knowing I did as much as I could for everyone involved while keeping my own sanity and interests in mind as well.
