also known as David B. Kempston
I graduated from Westmont College in 1989, with a degree in English Literature and then attended the University of Minnesota Law School--graduating Magna Cum Laude and Order of the Coif in 1992.
As a fledgling attorney I first worked at an insurance defense firm in Minneapolis. There, I tried a jury case and handled a variety of insurance related matters--my primary focus being worker's compensation defense.
Since 1996, I've worked at Mottaz & Sisk Injury Law, exclusively representing injured workers. I have tried over 485 worker's compensation cases. I have also argued before the MN Worker's Compensation Court of Appeals over 30 times and I have argued before the MN Supreme Court three times.
I spent five years at the University of St. Thomas Law school, Minneapolis, as a adjunct professor, teaching a class on workers compensation. And I have written 3 books, That's Why They Call it Practicing Law (2017), Lessons Learned on the Run (2020), and The Last Run (2026)--all available through Amazon.

You are in good hands
Mr. Kempston is a very experienced work comp attorney who has worked from both sides of the coin and knows exactly what you are going to encounter. If I had to pick just one quality that most defines David is that he is freakishly fast at responding to any calls/messages no matter what time of day. ...
