Got the job done

Jay spend all lot of time discussing my case with me. Made sure I knew why we were doing what we were doing. Before we did it helped me through a difficult time

Unreliable and not right

Mr. Rolloff in 2016 for my husbands case. He told me since the beginning it was a fairly easy case since there was almost no evidence against my husband. Since gave him an initial payment we didn’t hear from him for months and did not return calls. He rescheduled court dates over 6 times. Both prosec...utor and judge were upset with all of his rescheduling. When I was able to reach him months later he got upset – for no reason! He never fought my husband's case in fact he got sentenced to 3 months which a court appointed lawyer could have got him that sentence. He was very unprofessional, not just in his non-responsiveness and lack of actually doing the "work", but he just seemed “off”. I would never recommend him to anyone.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

You get what you pay for and with jay that couldn't be more fitting. Hired him through a friend because he was dirt cheap. There is a reason hes dirt cheap. Think about it. Initially comes across as a nice likeable guy who seems fairly knowledgeable and professional but dont fall for it. He lost a ri...diculously easy cases for me, a disorderly conduct that got dropped to a petty misdemeanor. Should have been an automatic freedom of speech violation. Didnt have enough sense to request a judge that wasnt a femminist man hating judge first off all and couldnt defend his way out of a wet paper bag. 2nd case i recently hired him was another disorderly conduct and another obvious 1st amendment violation. Yeah he is easy to negotiate a payment plan with but you will regret the few hundred you wasted on him. I would have been a better lawyer than him. He knew i was recovering from a car accident and waiting for a large settlement so we agreed i would pay him 250.00 when i got my settlement which would be a couple more months but before i got my settlement at a initial hearing he demanded i pay him whatever money i had in my wallet which was 20.00 bucks and had to last me the rest of the month because of work restrictions . He said he needed gas money because he had to go out of his way to meet me at court. When i gave it to him and saidvi would deduct it from what i owe he made a smart ass remark about i owed him a freebie anyhow and made me feel like if i didnt give him my last 20 and not let him have a it as a gift he may not continue to represent me. We decided to file a probable cause motion which we lost. I told him i wanted him to file a first amendment violation motion which clearly it represented. He kept telling me he couldnt and that the probable cause mption was already filed and was the same thing. He lied because he didnt want to do the work of filing it and mentioned to me prior in a joking matter that he would be representing me more vigorously if he was paid more money. I thought he was joking but thats why he refused to make an effort on my behalf. I also asked him to request a different judge and he acted bewildered and confused and said he didnt think he could. He was playing dumb with me and i knew it. I was trying to tell him how to do his job and argued with him and he would just smirk and laugh and play stupid. I could see the writing on the wall and see he was setting me up for a loss deliberately so luckily i asked the judge if i could fire jay and request a public defender which i was elegible and granted thank God. I regret paying him 100.00 more for the silly mickey mouse slapstick he preformed but actually felt sorry for him. Personal observation he seemed like he was on crack or meth and was strung out..talking to himself and cracking jokes and seemed confused even bewildered, in another world. Was ignoring me and lying to me and refusing to do his job. He was just squirrely and dont know if he was in his right mind to defend me even if he wanted to. I also heard about his peeping tom taking pic of some lady next to him in the dressing room charge a few years back and put 2 and 2 together and realised his reputation with the courts might also be damaged and affect his representation. I didnt give a crap about that but i did give a crap about his ethics and his representation and how he treated me. I dont know if he should even practise law. Even if you are desperate i would avoid him at all costs. May even be some ethical charges raised against him with the Mn bar association. He violated my trust and his oath and duty as a licensed attorney and anybody that deliberatly misinforms and lies to you and doesnt do his job and defends you but seems like hes more interested in helping you lose or fighting against you should not only lose their license to practise but get his nose rearranged. Hes a good actor and a player but hes a wolf in sheeps clothing. Two faced, backstabbing .

Better off with public defender

I hired Jay thinking he could do better than I or a public defender could, but your better off on your own, I lost a pretty easy case, it's your life, don't do what I did.

Great Lawyer

Retained by another person who was fighting my restraining order. I still have my exactly what I had before, more to use the next time, and he negotiated the return of my property, and the other person paid for it. Would hire him myself.
