One minute I was enjoying my life with my fiance and kids and the next moment I was facing 3 charges for felony sexual misconduct and abuse of a minor. Officers told me I was needed for questioning without any mention of why. I arrived downtown only to be accused and not questioned.
I searched for lawyers in the area and found Bruce Rivers. He was on top of things from the moment I contacted him. I remember Bruce telling me not to say anything to the detectives without him being there and if they booked me that meant I did the right thing. I will admit I was skeptical but that all changed quickly. From getting my bail reduced from 500,000.00 to 7,000.00 with conditions to ultimately getting me acquitted of all charges.
The prosecutors assured me that there was no way I was walking away without 30 years and that I should just take a plea deal. If it wasn't for Bruce I would probably be in prison right now, missing out on my kids growing up. Bruce was honest and upfront with everything that happened. I was up against serious charges and he didn't sugarcoat anything. He also made me apart of every decision that was made when prepping for and during trial. I was able to reach him anytime whether its was days, nights or weekends whenever I had a question or concern.
Bruce showed no fear when going up against the state of Minnesota. He was able to expose the negligence of the detective who "investigated" the case. He also made everyone aware of the carelessness and sloppy work of the Hennepin county prosecutor team, who had no problem destroying the life of an innocent man with no evidence.
Not only did he handle my criminal trial, but Bruce also got my case dropped against Child Protection Services that would terminate my parental rights. Although Bruce was outside of his expertise, he went above and beyond to research and make sure he was ready for trial.
I owe my life to this man and I would recommend him to anyone who may be up against even the worst charges.

When our son was facing a legal nightmare, we turned to Bruce Rivers for help. He responded immediately -- calling from his vacation -- and quickly set up a strategy that ultimately resulted in the best possible resolution. We are incredibly thankful to Bruce and his team: their work literally saved my son's life.
Throughout this horrific experience, Bruce was always willing to respond to questions, to answer our questions thoroughly and honestly, and always respectfully.
More important, he is a strategic thinker, with the skill, knowledge and expertise you need on your side when you are facing a harsh and impersonal legal system.
The experience was extremely traumatic for my son (and our entire family). Bruce was supportive throughout -- it's quite a bonus to have an attorney who is smart, skilled AND caring.
If you need legal help, you couldn't do better. Bruce Rivers is terrific.

First off I want to say thank you to Bruce and everyone at the Rivers Law Firm. You fought for and got my life back as if it was your own, and for that no words will ever do it justice, and I mean this with all my heart. I was charged with 2nd degree murder, 2nd degree manslaughter, and 1st degree assualt. He handled my case with such passion, elegance and grace. He is expertly knowledgeable, his preparation and presentation were top quality, and it all showed on the dance floor, so to speak. I was acquitted of all charges after a 1 hour deliberation. I would without a doubt recommend this man to anyone. He was very good about getting back to me when I had questions, and believe me I had my fair share. He once told me after I vented on him one day "I'm not just your lawyer, I'm also you psychiatrist". When you have to trust your life in the hands of another man, the gentler the better, and from this day forward I will thank god for just how gentle his were.....
