About me

I work with people and businesses who have been injured physically or monetarily.  Think of me as the first call for help.  When people are injured or need help, they call my office - - - and I help them get fair treatment and appripriate compensation for their injuries.

My areas of practice include personal injury (including auto and boat accidents), general litigation, divorce and custody issues, drunk driving OWI / DUI defense, commercial litigation, insurance disputes, mediation, arbitration, and other forms of ADR.

I previously worked in the marine industry as a yacht racing coach, instructor, and sailmaker; I've conducted racing rules seminars, sail trim and performance seminars, and general maritime sailing consulting.

  • Herbert C. Liebmann III

I endorse this lawyer. Bret is the go-to guy in our office on litigation matters. Judges tell me he is well respected in the courtroom, and he has a nice network of other trial lawyers with whom he consults when necessary. He thinks ahead & strategizes before he completes a pleading or settles on a strategy. When he's in a think-on-your feet situation, as in a courtroom, he's quick, but when he has time to be thoughtful, he does think things through. A nice combination. Bret does general litigation, some OWI & some criminal defense where there is a meritorious defense, and some family law -- divorce & child placement cases. You may discount what I say here because, after all, he's my son, but I think I'm being pretty objective here. --Bert Liebmann
