Biography
Attorney Daniel Purtell is an Estate Planning Law Specialist and Accredited Estate Planner® as certified by the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils and accredited by the American Bar Association. Attorney Purtell is an active member of WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel the Wisconsin Council of Estate Planning Attorneys (past-President), the Madison Estate Council, the State Bar of Wisconsin (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section), and an Accredited Veterans Administrative Attorney. He is also committed to his community through involvement in the Optimist Club, being an active AALA member, and through his activity in the Middleton High School Boys Lacrosse program (President).
Attorney Purtell provides educational programs both for the public and professional advisors in the areas of general estate planning, elder law, wealth transfer strategies, planning for young families, and issues relating to business succession. He is the co-author of Your Life, Your Legacy – The Fundamentals of Effective Estate Planning (2009), Your Life, Your Legacy II: Protecting Those You Love (2010), and has written numerous published articles on various estate planning topics.

Very knowledgeable
Daniel was very helpful as we worked through our estate planning. He answered all of our questions, and came up with scenarios that we might not have thought about. He was respectful of our decisions, and really helped us take ownership of our plans for the future. I would highly recommend him.

Dan Purtell
He was very helpful years ago with setting up my mom’s trust, so when my husband and I decided to set up our own, I never gave it a second thought that I wouldn’t go back to Dan again. He was as thoughtful and helpful as we expected he would be.
