Great Representative

My soon to be ex petitioned for divorce on November 2012. In December 2012, I retained Attorney Matthew Johnson. I had no knowledge of what it took to complete the divorce process. The soon to be ex chose to turn a simple divorce into a messy, frivolous and lengthy process. Her proposed marital settl...ement agreement was totally unreasonable. She made numerous threats and demands rather than working through an amicable solution. She disregarded the temporary orders and went through three attorneys until the trial date was set one and one-half years after she filed. Attorney Johnson and his staff were exceptionally professional during this whole process. They walked me through the process until I understood it. He and his staff promptly returned my phone calls. They always had logical answers to my questions. E-mails and correspondences were sent to me as soon as they received correspondences from the other side. The communication was great and I always felt as if I was in the loop. We had numerous court appearances during the process. Attorney Johnson appeared in court early and ready!!! Attorney Johnson always treated the petitioner, the opposing attorneys and I with respect. He focused on the main points and did not waste time on meaningless issues. He filed motions and subpoenas when it became evident that the petitioner would not cooperate. His strengths were exemplified during the court hearings and trial. The petitioner was found in contempt of court on numerous charges and was ordered to supply information which she was obligated to disclose. She was also ordered to pay part of my attorney fees. I always felt comfortable and confident that Attorney Johnson would represent me to the fullest extent of the law. I highly recommend Attorney Matthew Johnson as a divorce/trial attorney. He will represent you fairly and expeditiously.

Awesome Attorney

Being a middle-aged professional woman and seeking a divorce after a lengthy marriage was not an easy thing to do. I , being part of a growing number of middle-aged women (Gray Divorce Revolution) had had enough of a marriage that needed to end. I went to see Attorney Matthew Johnson for advice and... told him my situation- that my soon to be ex was going to take me to the cleaners, and all that I have worked for. My ex and I have one young son who is attending college, and I help him out the best way I can. Attorney Johnson listened to my concerns, and stated that he will help me. He reassured me that my ex would not take me to the cleaners. I felt very confident to hire him and represent my case in court. Attorney Johnson gave it to me straight, and to the point. He advised me on what would be in my best interest within the confines of the law. He was always on time for court, and kept me informed. Throughout the process, Attorney Johnson and staff were very professional and caring. I felt that he was on my side, considering, I had more to lose than to gain. I highly recommend Attorney Matt Johnson- he came through for me, I know, he will do the same for you. I cannot thank them enough. Patty

Integrity/Patience/Kindness/Knowledge/Fairness = Atty. Matt Johnson

Attorney Johnson is very professional and patient. My divorce was not a very amicable one and Matt demonstrated great patience and his guidance and knowledge in the matters brought before the court proved to be very favorable. In times of great stress, such as a divorce, it really helps when you ha...ve someone that is understanding and patient, yet knowledgable and determined, on your side! His office staff is also very professional and courteous!

Good fighter, especially during trial.

I hired Matt to help me with a very complicated divorce case. When we started, ex seeked full child custody, 100% placement, maintenance and half of my 401k. When all was done, we ended up with joint legal custody, 8/6 placement in her favor, no maintenance, and 0% 401k awarded to her. Huge success c...onsidering where we started. What impressed me about Matt was how he fought for me during trial, as our divorce went all the way. He was able to recall a lot of details in very short period of time, and then use them to full advantage when cross examining witnesses. He constantly took notes of everything that was said in court, details he's never heard of before, and was very quickly able to put the puzzle together. I felt very safe sitting next to him in a court room. Prior to the trial, the year or so of commissioner hearings was more or less procedural in nature but Matt stayed in touch as necessary. I expected a little bit more personal interaction. I felt as during that period Matt was more on the re-active side than pro-active, but then, I've never gone through a divorce before so I'm not sure if this is a standard or not. If I had to go through this again, I definitely would like little bit more interaction, advice and personal attention during the phase of commisioner hearings. All in all, I am quite impressed and most of all satisfied. I would recommend Matt to others. He is respectful, polite and most importantly, very knowledgeable in the area of family law.
