Heather was very helpful in guiding me through the divorce process. She's honest about what you're looking at, and gives you options on how to proceed. I had a very complex child custody case, living in Oklahoma I hired Heather based on recommendations of several other lawyers I called. I called serval firms that did not practice family law, after explaining this to me I asked them who the best family lawyer was in the area, all 3 of them said Heath...er Nelson. After consulting with her, I hired her. She was very prompt, and professional. Given the complexity of the case she was able to read, work through, and understand over 6,000 pages of text messages that spanned over 3 years. I had a mountain of horrible accusations against me and that was my only proof it didn’t happen. She was not only able to read and understand that, but during a trail she was able to recall them from memory, find them in real time during court. This absolutely amazed me. She not only got their “expert witness” completely discredited but also got them to completely recant on the stand and change their opinion to be in my favor. The thing I appreciated the most was Heathers ability to understand my position and what kind of defense I wanted and carry that out. My goal was to be in my son’s life, I didn’t want to tear people apart or stoop to the level that the opposition was. She inherently understood what I wanted, and based the tone of her defense off of that which was not easy to do. Ultimately I got access to my son and I am very involved in his life, you cannot put a price tag on that and this was uphill battle that took a year and a half. Heather has the ability to read people, situations, and understand things like few people I have ever seen or worked with. She has an amazing supportive staff, Alexis is amazing. They truly cared about my situation and went above and beyond for me more than I ever thought was possible. Hiring her was the best decision I ever made for myself and my son and changed both of our lives forever due to her competence and effectiveness at her job.
