Unhinged, unprofessional and unprepared

I hired Rudy to represent me in a mold case on a contingency fee basis. His moods were incredibly labile, initially being able to fulfill his duties as my attorney, then moving through multiple paralegals and taking his aggression out on me. Rudy identified incorrect witnesses and did not prep me or ...two witnesses for our depositions. Once he realized he called the incorrect witnesses, I received a slew of email messages, never once a phone call, alleging I suddenly didn’t have a case and that he would drop me as his client. You don’t just get a contingency fee case without having substantial proof. Rudy is now the subject of an investigation and has retaliated against me in small claims for some random amount of money. I had repeatedly requested an itemized breakdown of these costs as well as a receipt, but I’m sure he’s moved onto his next paralegal. Also watch how he responds to his reviews online - he is aggressive, combative and fails to take accountability. Rudy dropped me as his client without ever having performed any depositions on my behalf - he never even deposed the defendants or the builder who completed total renovations on the home. As of today, I’m still unsure as to why he dropped me as his client - the four law firms I contacted are also unsure. I am guessing that he felt like his return wouldn’t be big enough or that he actually needed to work to earn his money. Rudy failed to secure an expert witness as promised and has left me now with over $130,000 in damages. Rudy deserves hefty fees and jail time. I can only hope after this investigation is completed that justice is truly served.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
