Alex Berman

Alex is very experienced and kind hearted. After I became injured and contacted him he drove to meet in the next couple of days because i had no way to get to his office. He has been my lawyer for going on 3 years and dealt with every problem I've had. Now we live 4 hours away from eachother but he a...lways answers my calls or gets back to as soon as he can. Over the years we have caught ourselves just talking about life and reminding eachother to get back on track and discuss health and insurance issues. Alex and the attorneys at his firm, especially Jeff Kaufman, did the very best job for me as they could under the law. My case was quite a big case and there was a lot involved. I was an industrial mechanic. I was considered a top employee with this company for over 12 years and I had awards to prove it. My hands got so bad that I could only work with my left hand. HR approached me to send me for testing, and they put me on work comp without giving me a choice. I was as good as fired. It was scary. At that point, I did research online with different attorneys, and I came across the Michigan workers comp lawyers. I called and asked some initial questions and then things got worse at work. I had some nerve testing that lead to carpal in both arms, which ended up to several surgeries. You can only sustain that lifestyle until you start to get in trouble. It's very important to have a lawyer on your side that understands what's going on. I think Alex and Jeff were right on top when it comes to that. They also can explain the politics of the law - a lot of people don't know the changes that happened in work comp, since the governor took office. It's very unsettling, because there are not protections for workers. There are protections for the insurance companies, who are running the state. To go into a case like this without an attorney is just foolish. For lack of a better term, I was happy with Alex and Jeff's bedside manner. I was a working man, working 70-80 hours and putting my life on the line. My attorneys were there to support me when I was at my lowest, injured and afraid for my future. They spoke to me with compassion. At a point, I got to know them enough to where I knew stuff that was going on in their families and they understood what was happening with my family. I knew they were working on my case hard. I knew they had my best interest in mind. When I reached out with questions and concerns, they were there. When I would call, even the staff help me immediately no problem. Alex made it comfortable to go to court. He told me what's going to happen and what I needed to do, so I was completely prepared. There wasn't a lot on me anyway, because they already did the work for you, like refusing to accept the initial settlement offers from my employer. They wouldn't let me take less than I was entitled to. In the long run, the settlement they got me as high as possible, and substantial enough so I can position myself to support my family, buy a home and have nice vehicles.
