Neil S. Rockind

I don’t know how or where to start with my review, so I’ll just start here: Neil sets the standard high for other lawyers to look up to. Differing from most of his colleagues, Neil has tremendous compassion and used a very unique all-encompassing approach in an effort to help me during not only my ...case, but realizing that I could have been caught in the crosshairs of a variety of other serious issues (see last paragraph below) that transcended the confines of my specific legal case. He understood and appreciated that a conviction, even without jail, was not a win...not for me. I needed an an acquittal or dismissal. Differing again from most other criminal lawyers, Neil really knows his audience. Our initial strategy was to go straight to trial because Neil felt he could get an acquittal or "not guilty." I knew he could as well. I've seen him do it before on at least three other occasions. But when Neil filed some evidentiary motions to pin down the issues, he started chipping away at the prosecution's case- so much so, that the judge found the arrest to be unlawful, which in turn lead the prosecutor (an ethical prosecutor) to dismiss the case. It is also worth mentioning that Neil takes cases personally. I mean that both figuratively and literally. I hired Neil and he literally showed up to every substantive hearing. Above and beyond that, he took the case personally in the figurative sense in that he believed that the arrest was unlawful from our initial meeting on a Saturday evening at his office, and ultimately got the judge and the prosecution to agree. Results like this are rare...but not for Neil. NOT FOR NEIL. Thanks to Neil and his amazing team of Colin, Noel, and Breanna, I can continue to travel to Canada, keep my CPL, keep my umbrella insurance policy, not have issues with driving a company car, don't have to go before a professional licensing disciplinary board, or have any other freedoms taken away, including being jailed. #HireTheBest

Just left my Appeal Hearing to have my Drivers License reinstated. My case was complicated by an out of state move. With such empathy and kindness, Neil took the time to skillfully navigate me through every detail. I am a 30 year old male who has been running a business for the past 10 years. The last year I feel like I've been harassed by undercover police who set me up into purchasing some product and I felt I did my du diligence and bought correctly. Unfortunitly I was WRONG! I cannot even begin to explain how amazing and exceptional Neil Rockind was in my trial case. I was charged with a 3rd DUI offense in Birmingham Michigan which is considered a felony and mandatory at least 30 days in jail. When I was pulled over I denied my pbt test but performed all of my sobriety ...tests as directed. The officer arrested me after I refused the pbt test and claimed that he smelled intoxicants coming from my vehicle. At the station I consented to getting my blood drawn and the result came back 7 months later as a .09. We took my case from the 48th district court (where we had pretrial with Judge Smalls) to the oakland county curcuit court for trial and Neil fought it to the very end. Neil always made sure that I was thoroughly understanding everything that was going on every step of the way. I completely thought my life was over and I was facing a felony and at the minimum 30 days in jail.. Neil and his team spent a great amount of time going over my case finding every reason to win and get me out of it. The trial was the scariest most traumatizing experience I have ever have been thru in my life not really knowing what the outcome was going to be. I left the Oakland County Circuit Court and was found not guilty all because of Neil and his dedication to getting my life back. Neil truly cares about his clients and will get you the justice you deserve. I can honestly say that he is the best criminal defense attorney that I have ever witnessed in the courtroom. He strategically cross examines the witnesses against you in a way that I think they even start to believe that they're wrong for even being against you. Neil is amazing and I owe him my life.

I was on probation with district and circuit court. I'm a single mother of twins with many health issues. Doing the best I can complying with both court probation requirements, I needed help and relief. Neil was sympathetic to my situation and had my obligations for probation and the time remainin...g of my probation discharged and best of all....my case was dismissed in district court and will not show up on my record!
