Michael J. Rex

Michael J. Rex is a partner and a member of the firm's Criminal Defense and Forfeiture Law Practice Group, the Commercial Litigation Group, and personal injury sections. Mr. Rex has a comprehensive criminal defense background having represented clients at all phases of the state and federal criminal justice systems, including investigation, grand jury appearances, pre-trial proceedings, motion practice, trial and appeal. He has successfully litigated numerous jury trials in the state district and circuit courts, as well as federal district court. A large portion of Mr. Rex's practice involves white-collar crime and includes representing clients before professional licensing boards. In addition to litigation, he does extensive brief writing and oral argument on appeals in both the state and federal appellate courts. In the area of civil litigation, Mr. Rex handles contract disputes, complex business fraud, and negligence claims. Mr. Rex is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (Criminal Law and Negligence Law Sections), National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Criminal Defense Lawyers of Michigan, and Oakland County Bar Association. Mr. Rex earned his law degree from Detroit College of Law in 1983.
