Colin helped me significantly in my case by convincing my judge to reinstate probation on a ten year old absconder from probation case. I was able to return to Maryland and continue probation here. Highly recommend!!!
Colin was instrumental in a reduced sentence for my domestic violence case from 2016. Facing possible jail time he was very efficient and vocal with the judge at the 40th district court in St Clair Shores about my non-history in the court system. He was very throurough in acquiring my past accomplishments which resulted in only a short (6 month) period of probabtion for the felony of fleeing the police of st Clair shores. Extremely grateful for his timeliness and attention to detail when the stakes were high. Colin will have composure in any case that he will take on. I was able to stay out of Jail and will recommend Colin to any person facing a situation requiring criminal defense as mine.
Colin A. Daniels was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Unlike many attorneys, Colin knew that he wanted to practice law as far back as the fourth grade. When he was nine years old, his Grandmother asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up and he promptly replied “a lawyer.” Eighteen years later, he is doing what he loves and was born to do: assist people in their struggles against an all-to-often oppressive and unfair criminal justice system.
Colin graduated from Albion College in 2004 with a degree in Political Science and several Dean’s List honors. After completing his undergraduate studies, Colin joined the Americorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), determined to spend ample time helping those in need. For nearly a year, Colin traveled the Southeastern United States performing community service projects for individuals and organizations in desperate need of help. His work, which was all unpaid and usually consumed between 50-60 hours per week, included building houses with Habitat for Humanity, supervising and conducting controlled burns of overgrown forests, removal of invasive plant species, maintenance of hiking and canoe trails, and tutoring grade school children in math and science. It was during this important period in his life that Colin not only met the love of his life but also realized that his heart lay in helping others, and ultimately, in criminal defense.
Immediately following his term in Americorps NCCC, Colin attended The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in Detroit, Michigan. While attending law school, Colin participated in Moot Court and was in the top of his class in his Advanced Legal Writing Seminar. In addition, Colin interned with the Washtenaw County Public Defender’s Office during his first two years of law school and with a small criminal defense law firm in Ann Arbor, Michigan, during his final year of law school.
Colin is now admitted to both the State Bar of Michigan and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and is currently employed as a full-time associate at Neil Rockind, P.C. in Southfield, Michigan.

I was facing my second DUI charge and hired Colin to represent me. He got me the best deal possible and worked with me after probation was complete to get my license reinstated. We succeeded on the first try. I would recommend him to anyone needing a defense attorney.

Multiple felony drug possession charges
I was facing charges for possession of 3 different narcotics, Colin took on my case and instantly made me feel like their was hope. He is an amazingly knowledgeable attorney, and it definately shows in court. The way he handles himself and keeps his composure is incredibly impressive, not to mention he made the police officer on the stand squirm in his pants during the cross examination. His cross examination alone was so powerful, that even though my case was pretty much a slam dunk for the prosecutor, Colin was able to gather all the leverage to enable a viable plea from multiple felonies to just small misdemeanors. I feel like I got all my moneys' worth, and couldn't have imagined hiring any other attorney. If you want an attorney that tells you how it is and gets you what you want, there's only one option... Colin Daniels. Not only do I recommend Colin, I insist.

OWI plus failure to report
Colin negotiated a dismissal of the OWI and failure to report charges with a plea to operating while visually impaired. Following his advice for sentencing preparation, I was sentenced to only fines and cost, no probation. Colin was professional, knowledgeable and provided me with great recommendations to receive the best sentencing terms possible. I recommend him to everyone I know who may need an attorney.
