Michael James Granzeier

I found Mr Granzeier to very knowledgable & detail oriented in the laws surrounding Mi Dui/Dwi laws. I had lost my Mi drivers licence 16 yrs ago due to 3 DWI incidents in 10 yrs. I had tried twice on my own to fallow the guidelines on the Mi Secretary of State web sight but to no avail. I went into Mr Granzeier's office in June 2013 facing a 20 year felony. After talking with him for a few minutes I decided to retain him as my Attorney and am very thankful that I did. He was very knowledgable about the law and the charges that I had against me. Although the Police had quite a bit of... evedince against me proving my guilt, Mr Granzieier somehow got the Police, the Prosecuter, and even the victim in my corner and to make a long story short he got my charge of a 20 year felony knocked down to a Misdemeanor with NO jail time. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! So here it is in October 2013, and today was my sentencing date and instead of being in jail I am here at my home writing this review. My case was a tough case. I was denied a license after 10 years of safe, no contact with the law, restricted driving after 2 DUIs. So I decided to appeal and was referred to Michael Granzeier. The first phone call I will never forget. He put me at ease, told me they cant do that to you, your being ra...ilroaded. He also mentioned his credentials, one witch involved serving on a legislative committee concerning OUR rights with respect to the alcohol interlock device. Through the entire process he remained in constant contact. I NEVER was unable to reach him, or get a call back that day. In fact Mr. Granzeier . was usually the one calling me making sure we had everything we needed for this case. The day of the hearing, naturally I was nervous. But after reading Mr. Garnzeier's presentation , I was put at ease. He countered ever argument with well thought out rebuttals. I knew I had a winner. The hearing was very short based on a very skilled, thought out, arranged testimony on behalf of my lawyer Michael Granzeier. The other side tried to explain there position , but was immediately shut down by the judge. Full driving privileges!!! After court that day I received a call from Mr. Granzeier. Stating that he got back to his office and he had filed the necessary paper work so I would receive my paper work from the state ASAP. Justice was Served!!! I can say that Michael Granzeier is diligent professional who really does take the job of helping you very, very seriously. I've unfortunately had to deal with lawyers in the past. I recently hired Mr. Granzeier represent me for a criminal case. I hired him about a month before my trial was to start. Throughout this month he had told us that there was nothing to worry about, and that everything was going to be fine. He said that he had represent hundreds of people in similar... cases. The very day before my trial Mr. Granzeier calls me and he asks me if I would be interested in taking a plea deal. I told him that I was innocent and I didn't want to take a plea deal. On the day of the trial he tells me that the prosecutor is offering a great plea deal - one of the best he's ever had. I tell Mr. Granzeier that I don't want to accept this plea deal, and he starts begging (yes begging) me to take this deal. He sounded like a high-pressure salesman trying to sell me this plea deal. Mr. Granzeier just want me to take the plea deal so he could make money without going to trial. So now I'm out $1600 because Mr. Granzeier didn't want to go to trial, and I had to hire another attorney. I feel that I was scammed.

I would commend you to Mr. Granzeier in your efforts to regain your driver's license following a DWI/DUI. Thorough, objetive yet undestanding and empathetic. His knowledge of the often contradictory appeals process can preclude a novice do-it-on-your-own type from making a hash of his appeal and expo...sing that person to further delays in license restoration. His fees were more than reasonable given the nature of the offense(s). (Consider how much you probably spent over the years with court-appointed attorneys, probation costs, fines and penalties).
