JOHNATHAN IS AMAZING!!!

I got arrested for an OWI (Operating While Intoxicated) in Ypsilanti in January of 2015. I went online and found Kelly & Kelly and emailed Jonathan about my situation and he emailed me back not even 10 minutes later saying he could help me. Jonathan immediately gave me a program to follow which con...sisted of AA meetings, 50 hours of community service, and attending a MADD meeting (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). I did exactly what Jonathan recommended I do. Before I went to court he had recommended I take a Substance Abuse Assessment, in which I also did. Jonathan said we were going to plead to the lower charge of Driving While Visibly Intoxicated and try to keep my license from day one. Jonathan met with me about a week before my court date and told me exactly what was going to happen at court, and what the judge was going to say, and he told me to act confident and not nervous. This helped ALOT knowing what to expect. On my court date Michael Kelly came with me because Jonathan had an emergency felony case, but Jonathan made sure I was in good hands. Michael Kelly was also amazing and had a great statement to the judge about how I did AA meetings, community service, a MADD meeting, and a substance abuse assessment. I walked out of the court room with the lower charge of Driving While Visibly Impaired, only a restricted license, and NO PROBATION!!! Michael said he has never had a case where someone charged with drunk driving has no probation at all so that was amazing. These two were extremely helpful, confident, and comforting along the way and helped make this awful experience a much better one. If you are smart enough to hire either of these guys make sure you DO EXACTLY WHAT THEY TELL YOU AND FOLLOW THE PROGRAM THEY GIVE YOU!!!

My son faced marijuana possession charges

In March 2015, my 19 year old son called me because he had gotten into trouble. While out of town for dinner in Novi, he turned right at a red light (which was prohibited). He was pulled over and the police officer asked if he had marijuana. He was truthful that he and his girlfriend did indeed have ...a small amount. They were arrested for possession, his car was impounded and they stayed in jail until they could be bailed out. Neither had been in trouble like this before and they were scared. Fearing that a conviction would result in a drug charge on his record, I sought an attorney who would be able to help him take responsibility for his actions but that his punishment not follow him for the rest of his life. I contacted a couple different attorneys who looked like they had a successful history defending cases like this. As I understood it, Oakland county is very strict in these situations. Ultimately, my husband, son and I felt like Jonathan met our needs. We liked his proactive approach. His approach was very beneficial for my son as well. He was able to grow as a person during the process and had learned a very valuable life lesson about one of the consequences of drugs. When they finally went to court, after meeting with a probation officer for his sentencing suggestions, the outcome was very successful. My son is on probation for 9 months, drug tests every other Monday, and ten hours of community service. Most importantly, there was dismissal of drug charges, a factor which could prevent him from obtaining employment or renting a apartment, etc in the future. Our family is very thankful we hired a proven lawyer who had our son's best interest in mind. He didn't just want to get him out of trouble, but wanted to make sure he learned a lesson and grew as a person. I would definitely recommend Jonathan Paul!

Very thankful to have found him

I'm a freshman at the University of Michigan and I received an MIP at a party in February. I was scared and angry and I didn't know what to do. Jonathan helped put my mind at ease and ensured me that this was just a little speed bump on in my college experience. He had me take measures before my t...rial (such as community service and an alcohol education course) that I would've otherwise had to do after my pretrial anyways. He was very quick at responding to my emails and always answered all of my questions with great knowledge. I would recommend him to everybody. Thanks again Jonathan.

Retail fraud case, so glad I chose Jonathan Paul

When I was arrested for retail fraud and taken to jail, I could see my life goals shatter in front of me. It left me depressed. I looked up lawyers after I got bonded out and I found Jonathan Paul's website and the way he had explained things on there just left me amazed at the compassion he showed t...owards his clients. At a stage like this, apart from legal help, you also need some emotional and moral support which I foung in Jonathan. He put me on a proactive program that in the end made me look like a responsible and civilized person in front of the judge. Not only did he give me a good way of handling a situation like this, he also made me emerge as a better person through his program of service and learning. I would not have been so emotionally stable and hopeful if I were not on his program. So I am very glad I hired him as an attorney. It saved me a whole lot of pain I owuld have to go through otherwise. The best part of having him by my side was knowing that he would answer every question I have with a very calm and detailed way that it made everything look so easy. My court day was also particularly stress free since he made it all so much easier and got a dismissal deal with the prosecution. In the court room, he did all the talking and I didn't have to do much. In the end I got a year of non-reporting probation with a minor fine. It seemed that he knee the judge very well and has had a lot of experience with these kind of cases. I highly recommend him.

"When I first met John, he was beating me up as a prosecutor. When I heard John became a defense attorney, I was elated for two reasons, first that I wouldn't have to go against him any more, and two, that anybody charged with a crime an Ann Arbor and Washtenaw County have an exceptional criminal defense attorney who gets the job done. As a defense attorney, John uses his extensive experience to craft solutions to tough cases. As a fellow defense lawyer, I rely on John's advice in my own cases.
