Hired her for divorce. Would not recommend

After using Mrs Benson for 4 months of my divorce, i was able to switch. Mrs Benson was unprepared and unresponsive. The experience was unpleasant.

Dr.

I can’t tell you how disappointed I was in this firm. I hired Ms. Benson and immediately after paying my retainer fee, I realized I had made a mistake. Tons of unanswered phone calls and messages ended up costing me not only money, but time and added grief. She was disorganized, didn’t have proper do...cumentation on many meetings. When I went to court, one of her associates showed up and told the judge we wanted split custody...meaning a week at each parents house and then a week at the other parents home...we NEVER said this was the arrangement we wanted. I left after this and found another lawyer who actually KNEW the law. Don’t waste your time...

I have not had a client of my firm that even comes close to matching the description of events referenced in this review. It is likely that the review was written by an unethical attorney or someone with a lot of anger trying to avoid taking responsibility for the hardships in their marriage. The truth is, going through a divorce or any form of family law litigation can be difficult and emotional, and while my firm is supportive of our client's needs, some people hold onto hurt and misdirect their pain. It is unfortunate when this occurs as holding onto anger serves no positive purpose.

A True Professional in Every Aspect

I hired Annette as my divorce lawyer after parting ways with my original lawyer when I determined he was not competent to handle my case. This was only days before we were scheduled for our first mediation session. I found Annette through a professional recommendation and contacted her the same d...ay and we had our first phone consultation that very same afternoon. After a short conversation I knew right away I had made the right decision. During our short consultation she asked questions that my former lawyer did not consider even after four weeks. In less than 24 hours Annette handled getting the paperwork filed with the courts, informed my former lawyer of the change and had the mediation rescheduled. I did not have to do a thing. We had a few more phone conversations over the next few days and then we meet to prep for the upcoming mediation. I was very impressed. It was like night and day compared to my first lawyer. She was completely prepared for the meeting which was impressive given the short time she had to prepare. She asked me very relevant questions and discussed in detail how the mediation process would go, how I should conduct myself in the meeting, what our strategy would be (and there is one), and the potential outcomes I could expect. As I came to find out, she was spot on. As the process progressed and we got into the final days of negotiation (we did not come to an agreement in mediation), Annette worked closely with me all the way through. She would advise me of the options, give me her opinion on what I should do, but leave the ultimate decision making to me and even take some of my suggestions. She also helped keep me grounded when my emotions would get in the way. In the end she was able to negotiate a very favorable agreement without the need for me to even appear in court. There is no doubt in my mind, if I had stayed with my original lawyer it would not have been nearly as favorable. Annette also has very professional staff of individuals to assists her in many aspects of the process. They handle a lot of the client communication and scheduling, preparation of documentation, billing, etc.. at a lower rate which can save money in the end. They provided very detailed invoices outlining where the time I was being billed for was spent. There is definitely a team concept approach to how they handle their clientele which is a testament to how Annette wants matters handled whether she is involved or not. Whenever I would contact Annette via phone or email I always received a prompt response from her or one of her staff depending on the situation. She communicated regularly with me and I was able to review all documents without being rushed and if had questions she took the time to explain things. Annette treated me with tremendous respect. She is a very warm friendly caring person. I felt like I had a real friend in my corner. I hope I will never need her services again, but if I do, I will not hesitate to contact Annette and cannot recommend her more highly to anyone looking for a top notch lawyer who will do her best to represent you and get the best results possible. You can't go wrong with Annette Benson Law.

Annette Benson is simply the best.

For the past several years Ms. Benson has been helping my family navigate through a very difficult matter involving my children and my ex-wife. Throughout I always felt that Annette had put my children first. Her counsel was frank, honest, and always fair. She was always there when we needed her. Ann...ette has the experience to understand all of the dimensions of the situation and recommend what is right. I cannot say enough about Annette and I think she is "simply the best" attorney for a family matter.

WOW- I had a GREAT experience

I had a fantastic experience with Annette Benson and her staff during an 18 month long POST-divorce issue. Despite HUGE issues with the opposing counsel, she remained poised and professional. She was well prepared, informed and kept me posted about everything that occurred during the duration of the ...case. Her staff was VERY responsive and polite and helpful in explaining answers to my concerns in a timely manner. I hope NEVER to have to go to court again- but if I DID, I would use Benson & Associates again.
