Marc was the perfect lawyer for my case. I was facing 5 to 40 years on a drug conspiracy case. Right away, Marc went to work. I was taken by surprise when I was arrested because I had not lived in Michigan for 5 years and I was arrested in Nebraska and extradited to Michigan on these charges. Marc ...informed me that under the Safe Haven Program my sentence might be taken under the mandatory minimum of 5 years. The prosecutor was seeking a 35 month sentence. Marc reviewed the facts, visited me at the jail, and took his time to explain what he was going to file with the court, why he was filing it and he made sure I had a full understanding of everything that was happening to me. Marc negotiated with the prosecutor and he got the prosecutor to agree to a plea agreement of 25 months. Marc waved the trial and I took the plea agreement of 25 months. Marc informed me the judge could go over or under the sentence the prosecutors recommendation. At my sentencing, Marc fought hard for me. The judge sentenced me to 60 days and credited me the 60 days I had served while in custody and 5 yrs of probation. Marc was a blessing from God for me. I have read some reviews before mine and I want to share my story with Mr. Marc Lakin. Marc was my 3rd lawyer on the same case. The reason for that is because my 1st one failed miserably and I am glad I realized it early enough. The 2nd guy was just a bad lawyer. I am talking silk stalkings lawyers... and they couldn't built a case if it fell out of the sky it landed on their head. Marc is all business. First of all we agreed on a price. He was sympathetic that 2 lawyers before me took me for a ride and we agreed on a fixed price. It was not cheap but at least I knew what I was getting into. The problem when you do that is that if the attorney is not a trustworthy person you are screwed. Marc is a man of his word though. At times between court days I got scared, "what if he doesn't show" or "what if he hits me for more money".. Nope . Marc showed integrity and now I trust him all the way. As far as the quality of a lawyer. Before him I kept telling my wife that we are screwed because we couldn't find a kick-ass lawyer to take our case all the way. My 2nd attorney was trying to convince me to take a plea for something I didn't do. Are you kidding me? All he cared about was to get paid. Marc looked at my case and said. "you feel you were wrongfully accused don't you"? I said YES. He said "don't worry we will go through this together and you will be fine". I swear to you I thought he was BSing me. Now I know that he didn't bs me but he was sharing from experience. After I told him all the facts he kept coming with different defenses using the same information. I could not believe how brilliant this man is. Today we got the result we wanted. Dismissed. He is a TRIAL lawyer. If you want a plea go with just anyone. if you want someone who will actually fight for you and your rights then go with Marc. I am comparing Marc to 2 other Silk Stalking attorneys remember that. This was my first case ever but thank God I fired the other two. I sound like a commercial for him but he deserves it. Anything you want Marc. You made a friend for ever.

I hired Lakin Law in June and was just acquitted at my Jury trial just before Christmas. My Conversion Van was identified as shooting at a house in Detroit.
