Born in a United States Army Hospital in Aberdeen, Maryland 1957, Mr. Lakin is the son of an Army Doctor.
Mr. Lakin grew up in the Detroit Metropolitan area and graduated from Wayne State University; then attending Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University.
While attending law school, Mr. Lakin became interested in the area of Criminal Law. Mr. Lakin’s passion for Criminal Law grew while clerking for various major Detroit based law firms. Upon passing the bar, Mr. Lakin opened the doors to his first office, which was located in the Penobscot building. Business BOOMED!
In 1990 Mr. Lakin would become well know for his role in the highly publicized case, more commonly known as, “ the Saint Aubin Massacre.” His reputation grew as he continued to win hundreds of jury trials. Mr. Lakin has been asked to represent defendants and appear in courts in several other states including: New Mexico, Texas, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, etc.
Mr. Lakin prides himself as one who can break through even the most complicated details; all so that the any person can understand their situation and handle it with ease, and less stress. Mr. Lakin has often been quoted as saying, “If you don’t have a PLAN to win, you can’t win.”
