Grandslam!

Marc was the perfect lawyer for my case. I was facing 5 to 40 years on a drug conspiracy case. Right away, Marc went to work. I was taken by surprise when I was arrested because I had not lived in Michigan for 5 years and I was arrested in Nebraska and extradited to Michigan on these charges. Marc ...informed me that under the Safe Haven Program my sentence might be taken under the mandatory minimum of 5 years. The prosecutor was seeking a 35 month sentence. Marc reviewed the facts, visited me at the jail, and took his time to explain what he was going to file with the court, why he was filing it and he made sure I had a full understanding of everything that was happening to me. Marc negotiated with the prosecutor and he got the prosecutor to agree to a plea agreement of 25 months. Marc waved the trial and I took the plea agreement of 25 months. Marc informed me the judge could go over or under the sentence the prosecutors recommendation. At my sentencing, Marc fought hard for me. The judge sentenced me to 60 days and credited me the 60 days I had served while in custody and 5 yrs of probation. Marc was a blessing from God for me. If you decide to hire Marc Lakin as your attorney it will be one of the greatest decisions you will ever make!

Attorney Marc Lakin attempted to run a scam on me.

I consulted Attorney Lakin recently on a criminal matter. I briefly talked with him over the phone. Mr. Lakin told me that prosecution is scared of him and that is why I should hire him as my lawyer in my case. No prosecutor is scared of any lawyer. Mr. Lakin lied to me and I feel he did this jus...t to get paid. He made other bad remarks to me which made me uncomfortable speaking to him ever again. I will never hire this individual and I suggest that everyone should do the same. As for my case, I did retain an attorney and I was treated with respect for me and my case.

Please Beware!!

Mr. Lakin was retained by me for a criminal case. I explained to him the facts of the case. When Mr. Lakin responded to me he did not stick to any facts I gave him. Instead he tried to do things his own way! He argued against me more than he argued for me! I immediately realized a huge mistake had be...en made. He lied to me about evidence that he said he would bring to court. He never brought important documents to court that he promised and it almost totally ruined my whole case! Luckily I had a good lawyer waiting to take over this mess. It is my opinion that Mr. Lakin does not try to represent his clients and everyone should stay away from him. Do not hire marc lakin please!!! I almost went to jail because of him! I could not communicate with him at all. He was even wrong and lied to me about what was involved in my case. He told me that prosecution had a white female witness who saw my car at the scene. I was told that was not true by lawyer so he gave the court and me false information on purpose!!!

Charged me $2,500.00 and did nothing and NO refund said leave or he would call the police

When I an two ther people talked to this man about my case, we all talked to him about getting my drivers lic back, and he told me he could help if he was given $2,500.00 up front, so he was given the money and the check was cashed the same day, he told me he could not meet me in person for 3 days, h...e had court, so I go a ride to his office 3 days later, because no driver lic. and he told me he could not help me with out another $10 Thousand up front to go to court for another trial and another $8 Thousand to start up more fees for him. I told him we did not talk to him about a new trial and I would like a refund and I would just go and as he had his hand on the phone he told me and a Medical Doctor that was with me to Leave then or he would call the police that he does not give refunds and he knew I would be put into jail because I am not called a felon. This man will lie and take your money, do not use him or trust him.The question here does not really match with my situation I only was in his office for about 15 min. and he did nothing for me and has all the Money, $2,500.00. This Person retained my office after losing a jury trial with another lawyer in hopes of getting a New Trial. I was paid ONLY to review his case and advise. The client failed to even make the initial meeting and had a friend drop off his retainer. I spent a day reviewing his file and lining up issues for his possible appeal. He appeared at a second meeting now claiming he didn't want to appeal, put out any more money and Abruptly Demanded a Full Refund. He began to lose it and refused to leave until Police were called. Later, he was ordered by the Court to receive Mental Health Treatment and was further ordered to refrain from threatening behavior while on Probation. His claims were investigated and quickly dismissed by the Attorney Grievance Commission and he never filed any Civil Suit to get our fees returned. His internets complaints are also against the Court, His prior lawyer, the Bloomfield Hills Police and many others. Its VERY SAD! He claimed in December of 09', that he never wanted to appeal, but on the same day as he hired our office he posted the following explaining to the world that his new lawyer was going to get him a new trial and wrote: Re: Bloomfield Hills Michigan Police will lie and beat you December 09, 2009 12:55AM Registered: 3 years ago Posts: 13 Soon, I will have a new Trial with my New Attorney, we will see what the Police officers in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan will say in the Next Jury trial. How, they can get away with what was done to me it is not right and I am sure the next trial will prove that. The Chief of Police called me a felon and the Police Officers in court called me a felon and lied about me, it looks like the Jury did go along with the police, but I feel they were just mad at the Judge, because they had 9 questions for the Judge and he refused to answer any of the questions for them, after he made them wait for over 6 hours, so they came back in 20 min. with guilty after the Judge made them wait and wait for nothing, so they took it out on me. When the Police said I just looked suspicious and I did nothing wrong, it was a fact that I was not guilty of any thing. The truth will come out with the new trial and New Lawyer. Maybe this time the News Media will put my story on the news. If the Bloomfield Hills Police will do this to me a 52 year old man that did nothing wrong, they are doing this to others and this is not right. JS Ann Arbor/Bloomfield Hills
