Represented me to obtain a protective order, did a fantastic job

Mr. Graham was on-point and did a great job. I consulted with him a few times looking for advice to avoid having to file an PO against someone harassing me that has mental illness, he provided advice over the phone free of charge. Ultimately I still had to file a protective order against this person ...after they escalated to death threats and it got hairy because the court never sent my PO out for servicing. That also meant I was never notified of the hearing date and my provisional PO was ultimately dropped. Meanwhile the harassment and threats continued getting worse from the person I needed relief from. At that point I hired Mr. Graham to make sure there were no further problems on the 2nd attempt to make the PO permanent. He advised me on evidence to collect, how to organize it, and made the hearing itself go incredibly smooth. Ultimately it was his help that got my PO pushed forward and made permanent. Now my harasser is in jail and my wife and I getting the most restful sleep we've gotten in months thanks to Mr. Graham.

Honest, Caring, and Knowledgeable

I contacted Mr. Graham to help with a violation of a protective order. He talked to me multiple times on the phone before I even hired him. Additionally, he told me that given the information and evidence I did not need to hire an attorney. However, I was to the point where someone could speak and... represent me. Mr. Graham did an excellent job. He was affordable and knowledgeable. We met, went over the case, and he prepared me for what could possibly happen. Just having him there as my representative removed a large bit of stress from me and my husband. And I will reiterate, he had told me up front I wouldn't need an attorney for this hearing. Moving forward, after the hearing Mr. Graham has continued to touch base with me with anything going on with the case, or to check that the issue was resolved and I am not having additional ones. I can not say enough. I appreciate the work he does, and continues to do for me.

protective order

Roy Graham helped me with a protective order that I had filed, and he was extremely beneficial and knowledgeable of the case. He was very nice to me and attentive. He helped me not only make the right decision, but helped me find a solution that was financially attainable for me. Ultimately, I was in... a vulnerable situation at the time and Roy worked really hard to find a conclusion for me. If I ever need legal help in the future, which I hope I don't, but if I do I would go back to Roy. I definitely recommend him to others in the area.

Getting Life Back on Track After Divorce

In the beginning of my divorce, my now ex-wife took off with my kids to another state, cheated on me, drained our shared bank accounts and served me with divorce papers. When she returned, she lied to the police and the court, saying that I was violent without any evidence to support her claim. Nee...dless to say, I'm not a violent person, she was manipulating the legal system to her advantage. The police showed up at my door and served me with a protective order, effectively evicting me from my own house and making me homeless. I lost everything. My entire life was pulled out from under me like a cheap rug. I was isolated from my children in the beginning as well. That's when Roy stepped in and fought for me. Even though the protective order was still in effect, he was able to make it so that I could return to my house briefly to pick up my most valuable and sentimental possessions. More importantly, he fought so that I could have parenting time with my children after six long weeks of no contact. Months had passed where my ex and her attorney kept delaying their promise to drop the protective order while postponing mediation and court hearings so we could eventually settle this. When we finally went to mediation, Roy was firm that we would not move forward with negotiations until my ex and her attorney agreed to drop the protective order, which they ultimately did. Before going into mediation, Roy advised me to wait and see what offers my ex and her attorney put on the table and that I always had the option to say "no," to whatever they proposed until I was satisfied. This was very sound and wise advice because the mediator came to me saying she wanted to take the kids out of state, to which I obviously refused. The mediator left and came back and said that my ex suggested she would allow me to follow her out of state, to which I refused again. I told the mediator that my house, my job, and everything my kids ever knew is right here and I'm not letting her run off with my kids again. The mediator left and came back a third time with a new offer on the table: I could keep the house, the equity and all of my retirement and liquid assets if I just let her and the kids go. I told the mediator quite bluntly that I would not allow my ex to buy my kids. The mediator left and came back for the fourth and final time with a modification to the last offer: I get to keep all of my assets- the house, retirement, etc., if I let her take the kids to Indianapolis. I looked at Roy and he said, "Indy is a lot closer than where she wants to go, I'd take it if I were you," to which I agreed. From there, Roy also negotiated more weekends with my kids and arranged for her to do more traveling for pick-ups and drop-offs because I had to do all of the traveling during the beginning of the proceedings to get my parenting time. I walked away from that divorce in better shape than most divorced dads do. I'm currently back in my house, I get to see my kids more often than every other weekend and I don't have to cross state lines to get my parenting time in with them. I owe it all to Roy. He's firm, he's ethical and best of all, he's affordable. He helped me get my life back on track and I didn't have to break the bank to do it. I would strongly recommend Roy Graham to anybody who lost everything like I did, and needs to get back on their feet again.

"Mr. Graham is fair to his clients and cares about the children involved in family matters. He also treats his opponents with respect which is refreshing the area of family law where so many practitioners seem to want to destroy the opposing party. Such tactics are rarely in the best interest of the children."
