In 1995, Griff graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Political Science. He then went on to law school at the University of Dayton School of Law and graduated in 1998.
In 2000, Griff became licensed to practice law in Ohio and federal court. He takes full advantage of the reach of his license with an eagerness to practice any county in the state. Traveling throughout Ohio and spending a significant amount of time in Court, he often jokes that his main office is his car and his office line is his cell phone.
Griff will proudly tell you that he has defended clients in over 100 criminal jury trials. He is not afraid to go to trial for any of his clients. For his service to his clients, Griff was presented an award by Montgomery County Common Pleas Court. He also mentors younger, less experienced attorneys by having them sit second chair during his trials. While his main focus is criminal defense, he also represents clients in juvenile delinquency, custody, divorce, child support, traffic, estate, and civil matters.
Early in his career, Griff was in solo practice providing a very personal, hands-on level of service with 24/7 availability. Even as his practice has expanded, he continues to provide that same level of service and availability.
Between 2010 and 2014, Griff joined the firm of Findlay, Johnson & Beard in Xenia as a partner. Joining the team of attorneys there helped him advance and expand his practice in new directions.
In 2014, Griff was a founding partner of Nowicki & Vonderwell. In 4 years, that firm expanded from 3 attorneys to 5. At one point, the firm operated 2 offices in Dayton and Springfield. Early in 2018, Nowicki & Vonderwell consolidated to one office in Springfield, Ohio.
In September of 2018, a reorganization of the firm occurred and Griff and Tyler Starline were joined by new partners Samantha Berkhofer and Eric Sommer. The former associates have now become partners who are dedicated to delivering the same level of representation that our clients have come to expect and appreciate.

do not hire this atty
This atty seems fearful of going up against older more experienced attys. Thats when he will suggest that you make a deal to avoid a trial or conflict. Twice this guy had me make deals or enter into agreements that caused me great harm. I feel all he cares about is collecting money not truly fighting...

The worst attorney I have ever worked with
This attorney charged for every minute conversation, email, and even text. He did not follow up nor follow through. The absolute worst attorney I have ever experienced. Next to no return calls, email or correspondence. He failed me as an attorney. He was basically non existent. I would not reco...

A law office that cares
I retained Griff services a few years back and had excellent results. It was a criminal case in the Clark County Common Pleas Court. I recommended a couple of other clients to him which were pleased with the outcome of their cases as well. This Law Firm goes by the book and fights for your rights. Ho...

Custody
Griff and I have worked together for years....I have not yet lost a case. Yes he is busy but what good lawyer isn't. Returns all calls come prepared and ready to work. Would recommend in a heart beat. Just now having my daughter move into my home because of my last hearing. This has taken time but he...
