Compassionate Counsel, Professionally Asssertive Advocate

A CEO at the same company over 20 years suddenly facing age related employment discrimination, I was fortunate to be introduced to Ann-Marie. As with most, I had no experience with this kind of challenge in spite of my extensive legal exposure through normal domestic and international business. She... compassionately yet firmly guided this type A personality through the often lethargic legal process, keeping me focused on matters as objectively as anyone could. As deft as she was Counsel, she was even more so as my Attorney when it mattered most. Her negotiation skills are as good as they get! You don't want to be looking at Ann-Marie across the table.....you want her on your side!

Gender Descrimination at the Executive Level

After nearly a decade of tireless service to a company, I found myself in a situation where I was experiencing gender descrimination and eventually termination. I consulted with Ann-Marie early in the process prior to my termination and hired her to handle my case. In addition to being exceptionally ...knowledgeable regarding gender descrimination as well the vast work place issues involved in my case, I was most impressed by her compassion and ability to take the time to truly understand my needs as we made decisions. We took a path of mediation and there were choices that had to be made during that process that were very tough. At each step, she helped me understand the pros and cons while reassuring me that each decision was mine to make which showed her sincere desire to protect my best interest. Her compassion for understanding how emotionally painful descrimination and termination came through repeatedly even offering to have me call her even if I just needed to vent. Ann-Marie breaks all stereotypes of lawyers and puts the needs of her clients first. Her values extend across her entire staff and I could not imagine going through such a difficult life event without their assistance.

ADA Discrimination

Ms. Ahern did a superb job of helping me navigate a difficult employment situation involving ADA concerns. She was excellent at guiding me through necessary and sometimes difficult communication situations with my employer, along with explaining when, why and how such communication was best handled.... With her advice, I was able to negotiate an extended period of time in which to find another position within the company, and the end result was a new position that best met the accommodations I need. I found Ms. Ahern to be approachable, knowledgeable regarding the pertinent law, knowledgeable about common employer tactics, and genuinely sensitive to my particular circumstances. I would not hesitate to to engage Ms. Ahern in the future should the need arise.

amazing attorney

I found Ann Marie when I was at an extremely difficult stage. I had just been kicked out of graduate school, and I had no where to go (to make matters worse, I was just a few credits shy of graduating!) More importantly, I knew I didn't deserve any of this, and that I was being discriminated against.... I was in over my head with student loans, yet I didn't have a degree to show for it. Ann Marie and Susan Stone agreed to have a one hour consult with me over the phone to discuss the case. Essentially they wanted to see if it was even worth taking my case, which I don't blame them for - in my head, it was a lost cause. I had spent that entire month googling what the possible ramifications could be, and there wasn't a single one that would work in my favor. Almost about 20-30 minutes into our conversation, we had already planned out a strategy, Ann Marie and Susan Stone had already informed their personnel to write an email at that very second and who to email it to. Just like that - 30 minutes before that conversation I was staring at the ceiling thinking "there goes my life" - 30 minutes later I was at a completely different point. I had hope. Two days later I find out the school wanted to negotiate. I was so excited that Ann Marie had been listening to me the whole time and completely saw my side of the story. Although during the entire case I interacted mostly with Susan, but whenever Susan wasn't there, Ann Marie would be just as helpful, and would always be in the loop since she would be getting copied on all emails. She was always one step ahead of the school. As I sit here now writing this with my diploma in front of me, I am not quite sure I will ever even know how to thank her for everything she and Susan have done for me. I went from being at rock bottom to being a graduate. Today I found out that the dean of the graduate school has "resigned" after only being the Dean for just a few months. Did our case have to do with it? Maybe. Maybe not. But one thing is for sure though: I would never have been in the spot I am in right now without these two amazing lawyers. I like to refer to them as my angels in disguise. Thank you Ann Marie for everything. You are truly an inspiration. You handled my case as if it was your life that was on the line. If I can ever become half the person that you are today, then I would consider myself a success. Thanks again for everything.
