Betty was absolutely wonderful. I need to say her daughter, the first person I spoke with at her office was so understanding, very warm and a great pleasure to speak with. Betty , was able to answer all my questions in that 30 minute consultation. Betty was able to get me thru a very difficult time i...

I do not often take time to review a business, I did wait and think about whether reviewing this business was necessary. If I save one person from wasting time it is worth it. Getting an appointment with Ms. Burley was not the problem, you can set that up online. She did have to reschedule and email...
This potential client presented at my office with a very complex set of problems involving multiple practice areas in multiple states. She shared that she had consulted with other attorneys who were unable to help her. We discussed multiple approaches and also discussed that I wasn't sure that I would be able to help her at all without further research. I spent upwards of an hour with her without charging a dime. Although she expressed willingness to pay a retainer immediately, I didn't want to take her money without making sure that I could help her at all. What may seem like "simple" questions to a lay person are often much more complicated, and in order to give a competent and complete answer, often more time is required than one would think. While I do wish that I had been able to devote time to her issues sooner than I was able, I had several current clients whose cases had to take priority. The message that I gave my assistant to relay to this lady was not "take your business elsewhere," but rather that I would answer her as soon as I was able, but due to my current caseload, it was taking some time, and that if she needed an answer sooner, I would understand if she decided to seek another attorney. Sometimes messages and their intent gets lost in translation. I do share office space in the same office suite as an optometrist, who happens to be my husband. The law practice has its own suite of rooms, but we share a welcome area and receptionist. My office is indeed rather small, and paperwork for multiple cases is often on my credenza. My small office allows me to keep my costs down, and has enabled me to provide legal services to many individuals for an affordable fee. I hope that Amber finds an attorney who can help her solve this complex problem. Sometimes an attorney and a client just aren't a good fit for each other, and it appears that would have been the case here. Good luck to you Amber. You're a nice person, and I hope that someone will be ale to help you.

On just reviewing our basic case she was very rude and unhelpful to my disable husband. As if we don't have enough to deal with we surely did not need her to put us down more. Would not recommend this horrid person!
This review was not left by one of my clients, nor even someone who has ever spoken with me. Rather, it is someone who disagreed with free information on this forum. When she was advised that she had no case, she became angry and left this retaliatory review.

I would recommend her to others and can easily endorse her as an attorney."
"I reviewed carefully Betty's answers on Avvo and her Avvo Guide on Parenting Issues for unmarried people. Betty displays a remarkable depth of legal knowledge and a great way of discussng it - particularly for one so young in the profession.
