Grandparent Visitation from out of state Grandma

My case was unique in Ohio. As a WA state grandma I was seeking visitation for my granddaughter. I chose Virginia through the internet. Always Virginia was very professional and very thorough. She mostly answered the phone herself and kept me on track; she was always available and sometimes with ...the three hour difference in time it was difficult for both of us. If she couldn't reach me then she would email promptly. I ended up stepping down from the case; knowing that we would most likely win; however the situation itself became a no-win situation. As in the beginning so was the ending, an honest, forthright attorney. I was never sorry that I chose Virginia to guide me through this journey. Thank you.

Stay away. Starts good, but she is 10x cost of others

I had her in a custody case. She was very well informed and very thorough. Too thorough than was necessary for the case. Why?! Well in 1.5 yrs I racked up $35k in legal bills. One month along was $10k. It came with no warning and when u questioned it she threatened to leave my case. Felt it was pret...ty unethical to have me keep giving a $2k deposit to keep up then come with that large of a bill. In the end she pretty much caved to another lawyer who isn't even versed well in family law. I redid my case with another attorney and spent 10% of this starting from scratch again. After sharing this I found that this seems to be an ongoing strategy with her. Ask around. Get more than one opinion from friends. I wish I did. I'd still have my retirement money.

This person overstates her fees by 10,000 and understates the cost of her new attorney. As to the rest, she is, of course, entitled to her opinion and I cannot really defend myself without discussing the case.

Expensive and Overpriced

I paid $10500, and got as far as getting temporary custody of my grandson. Right before trial, Virginia withdrew from my case due to 'medical issues' and not being able to counsel and represent me. I had to get a new attorney, who knew nothing about my case, so I'm just very disappointed in Virginia'...s services. Prior to with drawling from case, it was nothing to get a bill for $4500, and there is no payment plan. It began to feel kind of 'crazy'.

The medical issues resolved, but not in time for this client's court date. I met with the new attorney, free of charge, to bring them up to speed on the case, which was already organized for trial. Only after that meeting did this review appear, and that is very disappointing.

Unproffesional

Worst experience I have ever had with an attorney. I wish others had warned me. Was just trying to get child support and settled because I couldn't deal with her anymore.

I do not believe this is a legitimate review as I do not recall ever having a client who only wanted child support and nothing more. I believe this is the same reviewer who left a previous negative comment.
