Stay away. Starts good, but she is 10x cost of others

I had her in a custody case. She was very well informed and very thorough. Too thorough than was necessary for the case. Why?! Well in 1.5 yrs I racked up $35k in legal bills. One month along was $10k. It came with no warning and when u questioned it she threatened to leave my case. Felt it was pret...ty unethical to have me keep giving a $2k deposit to keep up then come with that large of a bill. In the end she pretty much caved to another lawyer who isn't even versed well in family law. I redid my case with another attorney and spent 10% of this starting from scratch again. After sharing this I found that this seems to be an ongoing strategy with her. Ask around. Get more than one opinion from friends. I wish I did. I'd still have my retirement money.

This person overstates her fees by 10,000 and understates the cost of her new attorney. As to the rest, she is, of course, entitled to her opinion and I cannot really defend myself without discussing the case.

EXCELLENT SERVICE

Virginia Cornwell is an outstanding lawyer. She makes you feel like each case is her only case. Nothing gets by her either. She cares about her clients and what is best for their children. She is realistic and supportive. I could always count on her to be available when I needed and to put 110% into ...my case. She took the time to explain things to me so that I understood completely. Whenever I telephoned, she was quick at getting back with me. She is honest, reliable, and caring. She has an outstanding understanding of the Ohio Family Court system and will do everything she can to assist you in acquiring the desired results that fall within the law. I would and have HIGHLY recommend her for any person in need of representation in the family court system.

Child Custody

I was in the middle of a contested child custody case. I had an attorney that was not represtening as they should have been. A week before my trial I contacted Virginia's office in a last ditch effort to seek proper counsel. Virginia was no-nonsense and immediately put her team on it. Virginia ex...plained what I would have likely received if I had stayed with the other attorney and then told me what I could possible recieve if I choose her team. In the end I got exactly what Virginia said I would. Most importantly Virginia and her team did not fill my time telling war stories (increasing my bill), she took all calls, she represented me as if I was their only client. With that said I am very pleased with her office and would suggest her services to any father / mother out there in the representation of them during custody hearings.
