Andrew Stephen Baker

I was in America from the UK traveling with a friend. We were doing a charity bike ride coast to coast. As we were on our way through Ohio, we were struck by a motorist. I had 16 broken bones, my ribs were broke in 10 separate places, a shattered wrist, 2 broken vertebra, three different breaks to... my pelvis and clavicle injury. To say I was injured was an understatement. I thought my travel insurance would cover my medical bills and the case as a whole. They refused to help me and I found myself in a hospital bed unable to pay for any of my medical treatment. Luckily, one of the nurses in the operation was part of a local cycling community in the city of Columbus.
