We contacted Wells to defend us on a 4th degree misdemeanor and she charged $20,000!!! We disagreed on a few items and she said we were too difficult to work with. Don’t disagree with her or her team, don’t express your feelings/opinions or she’ll quit you. Beware. A criminal defense lawyer who do...esn’t handle criticism when you’re “fighting” for your life/freedom. She got continuous after continuous and this just frustrated the judge. Do your homework first and don’t pay in full upfront.

My son was arrested for a sex-based crime and based on a friend's recommendation, I hired a different attorney. I figured that based on the fact he was only 18 at the time of the incident, the experience and competency of the attorney wasn't going to make much difference. I couldn't have been more wr...ong. Things with the other attorney seemed to be going okay, but I was a little perplexed that the prosecutor wasn't coming off their offer of five years in prison. My attorney said not to worry, we would get a far better outcome if we went to trial. If I had stuck with my previous attorney and had followed his recommendation to go to trial, my son would have been lucky to get 5 years in prison.
