Carol Lavonn Risk

Over $1,200 later she did not do virtually anything that i requested. She failed to file a motion for custodial interference, therefore, the judge had to specifically tell her to do so. I had to request on occasions that she file a motion for child support. Neither her nor her office had any clue tha...t my final court case had been scheduled during my case management conference. Carol insisted that that date was not an actual hearing date (a second out or something. Furthermore, Carol failed to submit my discovery documents back to opposing counsel at all! I provided answers/documentation to all discover requests. She also failed to conduct her own discovery request that I specifically submitted questions for. Her communication was beyond the worst that in have experienced in my entire life. I fired her for lack of progress and her terrible communication. I hired a new attorney that promptly informed me that the date that Carol stated was not an official hearing date was in fact my final court hearing to complete my divorce/custody case. Carol spend about 6 months not doing anything but draining my pocket. My new attorney did everything that Carol was supposed to do and did it within 2 weeks and got me the results that benefited my children and I by reaching and agreement before the final hearing . Carol simply drug my case out, absorbed my money and would have continued to do so. If you want am attorney that doesn't communicate well with her clients or opposing counsel than she is the one. If you want to spend money on unnecessary litigation, she is the one. From my experience with her, I would not even recommend her if she was free.

I had a very unusual case with regards to an Ex Girlfriend. I was served on a thursday did some research and Carol was recommended through a family member. They vetted her and said she is the best one to go to in this geographical area. I talked to her and hired her after a phone consultation, She kn...ew exactly the case and was through in her research of not only the facts she needed but sorted through all the extra I kept brining up. Carol could see I was a fish out of water and put me at ease while she reviewed the facts with me. This was all over Email and phone conversation since I live in California. The day of the case I arrived in Kentucky after Traveling all night and morning. We went over some final notes and looked over the evidence against me. She said this is easy to beat. We swore in and started the actual review of the case, Carol established the lines she needed to maneuver in and started diminishing the petitioners evidence, blowing huge chunks out of the case that was brought against me. By the time the Petitioner was done the judge had Already Ruled the Case Dismissed. All in all I spent 18 hours traveling for 20 minutes in a court room, to have the case dismissed by the skill and diligence of Carol. I can not recommend her enough to you if you have a case, that needs serious attention, this is the Lawyer you need.

If I had to choose one word to describe Carol and The Risk Firm it would be phenomenal!! I retained Ms. Risk to defend me in a family court matter. Her confidence and comfort level in the courtroom is impressive to say the least. She was assertive, not the slightest bit apprehensive about speaking... up, and had a no-nonsense approach in dealing with the other side. I desperately wanted to find an attorney that would make sure my voice was heard and fight for what I thought was right for me and my kids. Carol did exactly that. Carol’s confidence and grounded disposition outside of court helped calm my anxieties and fears. She was prepared and focused on getting the job done and she did it with ease.
