Hiring Carol Risk was the best decision I made!!!!

From the first consultation, Carol has been excellent. She was very informative of every aspect of my case. I had a very long difficult custody battle, Carol was there with me all the way. I felt her passion toward the case, and that gave me confidence. To feel like she cared about the situation,... and not just the job, made me feel so much better during a very difficult time in my life. After, a very long time and multiple trips to the court room, we walked away with everything that we were asking for. ( no one wins in a custody battle. It's an ugly thing for everyone involved). However, thanks to all the hard work of Carol and her team, I do believe that my kids benefited the best they could with the situation at hand. Thank you Carol!!!! My family can't thank you enough!!!

Professional and Caring Advocate

In 2014 Carol represented me in a fairly straight-forward divorce where my ex-husband and I were able to quickly compromise on all issues - asset/debt division, custody, etc. After the divorce, while my ex and I weren't friends we did have a relationship in which we were able to discuss and comprom...ise on any issues that arose, mainly because I would give in in the hope of maintaining a peaceful and positive relationship for our kids. In November 2016 my ex wanted me to give him the children 100% off the time (we had a true 50/50 parenting schedule), reduce his child support and asked me to pay 50% of a $12k debt from the time of our marriage that had already been divided in our agreement. I reached a point where giving in was not in the best interest of the children and denied his requests. That began a 6 month court process. I work in the legal industry but that didn't fully prepare me for the intense emotional roller coaster that followed. But throughout the process I had Carol Risk and thank goodness I did. Carol was knowledgeable about not only the issues of law involved in my case but also about the local rules and the court process. In the courtroom it was obvious that Carol was the more knowledgeable family law attorney as she raised objections, cited law and questioned witnesses. But beyond her knowledge and excellent courtroom ability Carol cared about my case. I understand she couldn't be there every time I had doubts and questions because I'm not her only client, but she was there when needed with excellent advice like how to communicate with my ex and the best way to position myself in light of the pending court hearings throughout the process. When I finally stopped trying to run my own case and listened to Carol and allowed the court process to unfold I actually felt better and my case progressed. We won on all issues and I am so thankful to Carol Risk for being such a zealous advocate for me and my children and for being the kind of woman that will tell me when to get out of my own way.

Worst Legal service EVER!

Had not seen my children in nearly 7 months and was seeking a lawyer to file a motion for me to have visitation with them. I met with Carol and she seemed genuinely interested in helping me, and convinced me to hire her. I paid her a $1,000 retainer and from there she practically disappeared. About a... month passed by after I hired her with no communication whatsoever, no call, no text, no email. Nothing. I began to call her office at least once a week to see if the motion I had requested had been filed yet. Carol NEVER answers the phone and is always "out of the office", "in court", or "unavailable". She has a secretary named Susan that takes all the phone calls. More months passed by, no response from Carol and more excuses from the secretary. I called on a daily basis at one point trying to get her to return my phone calls. After 6 months of excuses Carol had failed to return any of my calls, and ultimately failed to file the motion the I paid her to do, the motion she said she would file when I hired her. Hiring Carol costed me $1,000 that I will never get back, but more importantly it costed me time with my children that I'll also never get back. Definitely the worst legal service I have ever received, obviously a person of very low integrity and low values. She will lie and say anything to get that retainer fee from you, and after that she is literally non existent. Please do not put your future relationship with your children in the hands of Carol Risk. Only gave 1 star because its the lowest I could give, she deserves 0 stars. You will have more success representing yourself. DO NOT HIRE.

We won

Hello, my name is mark and for the past six years I have been in one of the most disguting and crazy custody battle. It started out as me just fighting to establish my rights and parenting time. During this time I dealt with 3 different lawyers that were pitiful and no more fought for me than a bug f...ighting a shoe that is squishing it. Needles to say one day after an extremely unfair decision in court while i was walking back to my car i saw ms. Risk law firm I walked in that door and my life has been better ever since. Im not going to say it was easy and Carol assured me it wouldnt be and continued to encourage me to not give up. Slowly but surely after 4 more years we gained little by little. Finally i almost have my son completely thanks to some awesome attorney work and some poor decisions by my sons mother. I couldnt recommend a better lawyer or person.
