Over $1,200 later she did not do virtually anything that i requested. She failed to file a motion for custodial interference, therefore, the judge had to specifically tell her to do so. I had to request on occasions that she file a motion for child support. Neither her nor her office had any clue tha...t my final court case had been scheduled during my case management conference. Carol insisted that that date was not an actual hearing date (a second out or something. Furthermore, Carol failed to submit my discovery documents back to opposing counsel at all! I provided answers/documentation to all discover requests. She also failed to conduct her own discovery request that I specifically submitted questions for. Her communication was beyond the worst that in have experienced in my entire life. I fired her for lack of progress and her terrible communication. I hired a new attorney that promptly informed me that the date that Carol stated was not an official hearing date was in fact my final court hearing to complete my divorce/custody case. Carol spend about 6 months not doing anything but draining my pocket. My new attorney did everything that Carol was supposed to do and did it within 2 weeks and got me the results that benefited my children and I by reaching and agreement before the final hearing . Carol simply drug my case out, absorbed my money and would have continued to do so. If you want am attorney that doesn't communicate well with her clients or opposing counsel than she is the one. If you want to spend money on unnecessary litigation, she is the one. From my experience with her, I would not even recommend her if she was free.

Carol Risk not only an amazing attorney but she is an wonderful person as well. She stood right beside me through out my divorce and custody case. Defending me throughout an extremely stressful time in my life easing my fears and worries . She was always there with a kind word and exceptional knowled...ge of the legal system. As a mother herself she understood and sympathized with my situation. I highly recommend her !!!!!

We met Carol and she seemed wonderful. After hiring her and sending her everything needed for the case about 2 weeks went by with no word from her or her paralegal. After leaving message, after message, after email still nothing back. My husband had finally got in touch with her paralegal and asked i...f the motion had been filed, she said I don't know I will call you back and never did. A couple days went by he called again left another message and still no call back. I sent a email the following day no response. I finally called and left her a very direct message and her paralegal called my husband very annoyed and said the motion hadn't been filed and she didn't know why and Carol would call him back. That was 3 weeks after we sent everything over for the motion to be filed and paid $200 to get started, because that is what her paralegal said to pay. About 3 more days went by no callback from Carol or Susan so he tried calling again. Left another message, more days went by nothing not even a peep. Finally after 3 1/2 weeks went by without Carol or Susan calling us to let us know what was going on I reached out to whom recommended her and let him know the situation. He called me back & said Carol said we needed to pay a retainer and sign a contract. NEWS to us!!! not 1 time in four weeks did her paralegal or herself take the time to let us know this. After calling almost 10 times leaving several message, 2 emails nothing back on why the motion hadn't been filed and now we're finding out by who recommended us we needed to sign a contract and pay a retainer. When we met with her face to face she said she would do it hourly and no retainer was needed! Now her and her paralegal have wasted a month of our time and not even tried to reach out to us in 4 weeks. My husband then called & demanded his money back and fired her. After that she didn't even bother to reach out and apologize for anything.This was completely the worst service we have ever dealt with! Her paralegal is beyond unprofessional! I can't believe it's ok in her line of work to ignore EVERY singe voicemail and email! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU LOOK ELSEWHERE.

I called Carol to discuss the divorce process on the recommendation from another client of hers. She was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful throughout the entire process. She was always very accessible and kept me informed. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for legal represe...ntation.
