Peter strives to handle each of his clients with respect and compassion. “Most people don’t approach bankruptcy willingly and they are usually at their wits end. I try to understand their situation before laying out their options and hopefully laying out a path toward the fresh start they deserve,Nothing is more rewarding than watching a client realize they are nearing the end of their debt trap.” says Brackney.

Peter takes the same approach with his estate planning clients. Most individuals don’t like facing their own mortality, but doing so can bring peace of mind for both themselves and for the loved ones left behind.

Peter also represents Kentucky businesses from startup to wind down, and at all stages in between.

Beyond the Law

Peter was born in Ohio, but he grew up in Lexington and calls central Kentucky home. As a double alumnus of the University of Kentucky, he bleeds blue! He married his high school sweetheart and together they have three children. When he isn’t practicing law, Peter is a big history buff. His award-winning website,  is about Kentucky’s rich history. He even wrote a book, Lost Lexington, about places in Lexington, Kentucky that have been “lost” to history. Peter is active in his community as well; he currently serves on the boards of both South Elkhorn Christian Church and The Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation.
