Do not hire this attorney

DO NOT HIRE MR KILPATRICK , if you wish to win your case. $5000 and two and half years later, not counting the cost of my flights and hotel cost to be in court every couple months and never seeing or speaking or having my case before a judge. Its seems he was a coward scared of the other attorney and... over his head on my case. I feel he was waiting for me to give up and walk way he was not going to fight for me. I could not afford to hire another attorney which is what I wanted to do after the first year, but i did not have the retainer fee so i was stuck. He is a lazy attorney he will take your money but beware he will not apply himself, he will ask me the same questions over and over and would not answer my questions. I finally had to walk away and knowing God would take care of things.

I am unable to defend this comment. I do not recognize the name or have any idea what type of case this refers to. I do share the sentiment that attorney’s do not need to be hired on the basis of a review on a random website that serves very little purpose in distributing adequate information or legitimate resources relating to obtaining competent legal advice. Direct interaction with the attorney is a necessity.

Increased the price of a Will from our phone conversation!

Spoke via phone in detail about having a Will & Testament done. He explained the different parts needed and quoted me a price of $300. I took time off work to meet with him that next week. He listed the parts again and got information from me. Then he added $200 to his quote from our phone conver...sation. There was nothing added or changed! I would never hire him for anything. He wasted my time.

I regret when prospective clients are dissatisfied with a free consultation experience; however, after spending an hour explaining the processes, the prospective client received a price quote for a will, a power of attorney and an advanced health care directive, and that is why the quoted fee was $500, and not $300. It was more than a will, and I am sorry there was any confusion.

Divorce Order

Hired Mr. Kilpatrick to complete our divorce. At first the divorce should have been straight forward, but my wife refused to sign the papers. Mr. Kilpatrick changed direction quickly and offered me multiple solutions to complete the divorce. The meetings we had were professional and to the point. ... He was organized in his questions and when it came time to go to court, it went exactly how he said it would and the case was closed. Very painless experience and I was very pleased. I will use him for all legal issues going forward.

Not worth it

I hired Mr. Kilpatrick to handle a disorderly conduct case. From the beginning he seemed to be very disinterested in the case. I was expecting a much more aggressive defense. He waited till the day before trial to started working on defense strageties. During my meeting he confronted me with some acc...ussations the arresting officer made. I was quite taken aback as I expect an attorney I hire to be on my side. I have hearing problems and my lawyer seemed to accusse me of faking them. Mr. Kilpatrick had explained to me that the judge in my case was very intimidating. That is something you don't want to hear from your lawyer. You want your lawyer to be aggressive and fearless in your defense. On the day of the trial, he explained they offered a plea deal. I tried to see the written plea deal but he didn't have one. I found out from my probation officer that the plea deal was substantially different from what he had told me. His response was simply that he wasn't sure of the details but he was certain that I wasn't being treated unfairly. That wasn't the response I was expecting from my advocate. In front of the judge, Mr. Kilpatrick didn't even stand by my side, his client. He stood next to the bench. I had a question for him when the judge was speaking to me, and I tried to get his attention to come over, but he looked straight ahead and wasn't paying attention to his client. In all, I feel that Mr. Kilpatrick didn't provide even a basic defense for his client. I feel that I would have been better off defending myself or paying twice as much for another lawyer.

I regret that this client was not satisfied, but this negative review is not substantiated. He did not receive a conviction and the fee was quite reasonable. At the time of conclusion of the case he informed he was quite satisfied with the outcome. I never like to have unsatisfied clients, but the outcome in this case was good for the client, despite these contentions.
