Professional, kind, and personable

Maddie handled my divorce in 2020-2021. She was always easy to reach and kept me updated throughout the process. I had to reach out to her again recently for another family issue and was able to chat with her quickly. I am so appreciative of her work.

Personable, Dependable and Enthusiastic

My ex-husband and I were in a disagreement about our parenting plan we had set in place for our child. He had moved twice without notifying me and when I was trying to move, while going through the proper channels, and he tried to fight me on it. I was 7 months pregnant with my second child and my fi...ancé and I were trying to move closer to where his job was. I knew I needed help so I hired Maddie and she did an amazing job! She immediately advised me on what I should do, how to do it, and things I shouldn’t do. She kept me informed about everything. She worked hard and quick and was able to get me the results I wanted before my baby came. She worked so well with me and my family and I couldn’t have asked for anyone better!

Attentive, personable, and passionate

My husband and I retained Ms. Copes last year for some family law matters. We have been so thrilled with our time with Ms. Copes. She is responsive, attentive, and passionate. She is professional, but also personable and very easy to talk to. She gladly answers any questions we have and is patient. O...f course we hope we don’t have any more family law matters in the future, however if we do, we would gladly hire Ms. Copes again.

Very professional, ethical legal representation, responds to calls / emails promptly, went above and beyond expectations

I went through a no-contest divorce in early 2020 and Maddie was my attorney. I was impressed with her professionalism and how quickly she responded to any questions I had throughout the process, especially after the courts were closed due to COVID19. My experience with Maddie started during much... simpler times in January 2020 with a quick 15 minute consultation on the phone with her about my situation. She was happy to answer the questions I had about the proceedings, the cost, and what to expect. After this initial consult and then a quick search online to check her credentials I hired her almost immediately. She did a great job from start to finish and I'm very pleased things went so smoothly despite the entire world being thrown into chaos shortly before the date that my hearing was scheduled. She answered my emails during AND after normal business hours and always got back to me very quickly, especially after the court (and most everything else) closures happened. My hearing was originally scheduled for late March and was obviously delayed due to the TN court system closing for a couple of weeks then operating with just a skeleton crew in early April. Maddie was able to tell me (to my satisfaction) how things would happen every step of the way shortly after the courts announced the closures. She regularly reached out to update me on what was going on. As far as I could tell she truly cared and wanted to get things done for me ASAP. She handled this extraordinary situation liked a seasoned professional. Spring of 2020 has been a very trying time for everyone in this country in its own way and Maddie went well above and beyond what I expected to make sure things were done in as timely a manner as possible. She paid attention to important details and processed my specific requests without question or hesitation. She is professional and honest and she is a very pleasant person to talk with. One does not always get that with attorneys and I've known people who have had much different experiences. I feel lucky to have found such a dedicated and ethical attorney. Maddie is absolutely one of the good ones and if I had it to do over again I would not change a thing about how she handled my case from start to finish. She is smart, emotionally intelligent, and mature beyond her years (I'm 40 at the time of this review). Divorce is not a pleasant thing but she made the legal side of it as easy as possible. Five star review for sure. Thank you so much, Maddie.

"Madeline Copes is one of the best attorneys to whom I have had the privilege of knowing, working with, as well as being able to learn with. When seeing someone under pressure, I believe you see who she really is; Mrs. Copes is as wonderful a person and attorney under pressure as she is not under pressure. I would and do trust her with any of my legal needs, but most especially family law. You cannot go wrong with Mrs. Copes."
