Great lawyer that I trust because he professional and honest!

I am a Biomolecular Clinical Scientist and also owner of a full service International Talent Management company headquartered in New York City, NY. In 2014 I was involved in a business venture with two other parties, which included the development of a hair salon. The other two did not maintain inte...grity with their financial obligations to the initial verbal partnership agreement, so the three of us decided that I would leave the partnership and receive all of my personal money invested to that point. The expected date of repayment was the middle of July 2014. The two other parties breached the verbal agreement to repay the money owed to me, so I needed to have a lawyer help me to prosecute them and retrieve my investment accordingly. I wasn’t sure how to shop for a lawyer, so one evening I submitted my case on lawzam.com to find one. Matthew David Barocas immediately responded and asked to set up a call the next morning to discuss the particulars of my case. After hearing a few specific details over the phone, Matthew suggested that I not speak to the other parties anymore and that we meet in person to talk about options for proceeding properly. He provided professional legal counsel as well as his honest personal opinion on what he would do. He even gave me a list of options that came with paying a retainer for his services. Lastly, he provided scenarios for me to see the “big picture” about what the potential outcome would be depending on which method I decided to utilize. I promptly paid the retainer and he took my case. We soon found that neither of the other parties had any money to pay me, nor did they have any plan to pay me back in the future outside of court. I proceeded to seek justice to the full extent of the law for the money legally owed to me. I submitted my case and had the defendants served. Matthew stepped in to negotiate with their lawyer to obtain the best settlement possible for me. I had no desire to drag this argument into2015, so he quickly drafted a stipulation of settlement to reduce the settlement to a written agreement, and put this whole thing behind me. There are many details involved in the settlement of this case and also a lot of back in forth over the course of a few months. Nonetheless, in the end I never had to speak to the defendants again. I did, however, receive a check from them, which arrived to me by December to cash and move on with my life. Matthew also ensured that there are terms in the final settlement to keep them from mentioning any details of my case against them to protect me and my businesses moving forward. As an entrepreneur, I have to be extremely careful and meticulous about where I spend my money for investments. Matthew David Barocas and his professional legal services are definitely a worthwhile investment. He is very timely in his responses, he is candid, he is professional and most of all MatthewBarocas is a lawyer you can trust with every detail of your life. He took my case and promised I would be happy with the outcome and he was right. Not only did he help me to have a favorable outcome with my civil lawsuit, but in the year 2015 he went on to work on my behalf by filing all business paperwork for my two other businesses to ensure their licenses are current with the state of New York. In 2016and beyond I will only use Matthew Barocas for legal counsel because he has shown me that he is working on my behalf to ensure I am a satisfied client. I recommend Matthew Barocas with my highest regard and will continue to use him for all of my business contracts, litigation or any situation where I need a reliable attorney in the future. Warm Regards, Mr. Ashley T. Head

A Great Lawyer

Matt has been my firms attorney since day 1 where we were a very unprofitable business. Due to his great advice and understanding my business and contracts, my company was winning business and getting the most favorable deals. He has been helpful with contract negotiation, employee rights, independ...ent contract rights, proposals and overall legal advice. Would highly recommend him as a business lawyer.

Everyone I have referred him to has been very happy with him and grateful for the referral.
