Melissa Wetzel is the Managing Attorney of Bond, Botes & Wetzel, P.C. located in Mobile, Alabama. Upon graduation from Springhill College with a degree in Political Science, Melissa became certified as a legal assistant and worked as a paralegal before attending law school at The University of Alabama. Her practice has primarily focused on Bankruptcy and Commercial Law. Over the years, she has served as Chair and Co-Chair of the Mobile Bar Association, Bankruptcy Section; served as Secretary & Newspaper Editor for the Alabama State Bar, Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Section; served as Treasurer, Vice-Chair and Chair for the Alabama State Bar, Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Section; and served as both a Member and Chair on various local bankruptcy committees. Melissa has represented consumers for over 26 years. She has also represented trustees, creditors, and other parties in bankruptcy proceedings across the State of Alabama.

Local Charity Participation
I have volunteered and participated in fundraisers for the American Cancer Society and other local charities throughout our community.

Favorite Local Restaurant
R&R Seafood located on the Causeway between Mobile and Spanish Fort. I love the Royal Red Shrimp and the Crawfish.

What I like best about my job
My favorite thing about my job is getting to meet new people/clients every day, and being able to help them with their financial situation when they feel like they have completely lost control of the situation. The feedback from clients is very rewarding to me. Simply hearing clients say that I have helped them be able to sleep at night again makes my day. A client recently sent me a “Thank You” card and stated “Thank you for all your hard work for me and patience. I truthfully was a wreck and you carried me thru this bankruptcy. So grateful for you!”
