Need A Lawyer, Shane Sears Is The One To Call

A friend of mine referred me to Shane. My friend said he was a good lawyer, and believe you me, he is. Shane is a sincere man, and he made me feel at ease, when we met the first time, what I liked the most about Shane, is his calm demeanor, and patience. When I was talking to him, he didn’t make feel... like he was in a hurry to take his next appointment. I had problems with a neighbor and her dogs threatening me, my family, my hired help, to the point her dogs tried to attack us. I got angry and threatened her, after her father and brother threatened us, on our property, by waiting on us, to come home from church, and confronted us over her dogs. She also threatened my mom in person, with her dog not on a leash, on our property. When my mother would not answer the door, she called her and threatened her on the phone, accusing me of poisoning her dogs, because they were sick. I had contacted the animal control, their boss, the head police officer, and the mayor’s office. I spoke to the mayor, in person, and filed a complaint against my neighbor with the magistrate’s office. I had video evidence, photos, police reports, and three witnesses. She filed a harassment threat, with the magistrate, in which she stated, I threatened to kill her. I had to go to court on April 10, my neighbor didn’t show up. The prosecutor decided to give her another chance to show up. I had to go to court on June 26, in that hearing, she agreed to me pleading guilty, and the charges would be dropped. Shane didn’t want me to do that, because, it would go on my record. Shane said, if we didn’t take the deal, the case would go to trial. He said there was a chance. I could be found guilty. Shane said, if you are convicted, he said would appeal the decision, and it would go to circuit court with a jury. Shane talked to the prosecutor again, and the prosecutor was able to convince my neighbor to drop the charges. The prosecutor told my neighbor that my attorney, Shane, was a trial lawyer, and if she didn’t want to be embarrassed on the stand, by her past, and her personal life; she would drop the charges. My neighbor agreed to drop the charges. I have to take anger management courses. Once they are completed, I turn the certificate in, and the charges are dropped, and my record is clean.

Educational

Shane was able to use his impeccable knowledge and skills to help us achieve the well needed help in our school system for my daughter. A situation we had been trying to solve since she had entered school was able to be solved quickly and seamlessly with Mr. Sears. I would not use anyone else but hi...m for all of my legal needs. He was able to give my daughter the help she needed to achieve her goals now and in the future.

Difficult case - favorable outcome

Mr. Sears has an incredible understanding of the law and the legal process. Our case was extremely unique, difficult, and time-consuming. This was the first time anyone in our family had ever been involved in litigation of any kind. He took the time to explain every law and procedure along the way ...in a manner that made sense and eased our minds. He studied our case and made sure that he was applying every means available to him to not only ensure a favorable outcome at trial, but he also ensured the safety of our family. We felt as though he was truly fighting for us from day one. It was clear that he had our best interest at heart. He was always honest and open with us. We never felt as though we were just another number or client on his list. I know for a fact that he worked day and night on our case. We spoke with other attorneys before him and I honestly believe that they found our case to be intimidating. Mr. Sears gladly took it on as a challenge because I think he saw that he could truly make a difference. We were very pleased with the outcome of our trial and the entire process. We sincerely hope that our experience and Mr. Sears hard work will pay off for others in the state of Alabama.

Shane Sears is a Knowledgeable Education Lawyer

Shane Sears helped me get my son the Special Education that he needed. After over a year of dealing with the School System on my own and getting no where, Mr. Sears was recommended to me. He knew the Law and helped get the Special Education team to do what they should have done from the beginning. ... I am always recommending him to other parents who are having trouble with the school district.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
