Shane Thomas Sears

Shane started off our meeting with his very upfront plan for my child, and then let me know what he would need from me. He was very confident, knowledgeable, caring, and you could hear the strength and dedication in his voice. He then told you what he would expect from you if he were to accept the ca...se. Once he accepted things were so much different than I had ever experienced. He had the ball rolling and a meeting scheduled and in just a couple weeks. He was strong during the meeting , that was not overbearing or rude . He laid out his expectations , and never b a c k e d from them. Once the meeting was over he had the school system ready to present an offer of a settlement and then a couple weeks if that long. The agreement was exactly what I wanted to happen, but it would not have happened without Shane. This agreement was by having a high level of testing done by an outside source with a wonderful reviewed testing center. They had learned enough to know we were determined and we're not going to easily be scared off or at all intimidated. This included testing by a high level facility with everything not just what I specifically asked for. They receive every therapist record, mental health record, records from school and school evaluations, test scores, class work and anything else the school has. Now you might think that my time with Shane is over now that the settlement has been reached. Nope it is not over. I am supposed to present to him the report 3 days before I go in for a meeting to sign so that he can tell me weather to sign or not. If the answer is not he then gets right back involved right where we are, and picks up the fight. He will continue to do this! He will always come back to fight for your child with you! You can't ask for anything better than that! Who else besides yourself keeps showing up for one of the most important aspects of your child's life and that is their education? A lot of us don't even have family to do that. Shane is amazing and hiring him is the best thing you could ever do!

Mr Sears helped get my daughter the support she requires in order to make it through her day safely. The fact that he is readily available to enforce the agreement and f and when the school fails to comply is the most comforting thing I can hope for. Having a child with special needs is difficult eno...ugh. Watching the school district not do their jobs when it comes to our kids only adds to the stress. I cannot thank me sears enough for helping alleviate some of the stress. He did a fantastic job for our family.

First let me start by saying Shane is a God Send. We relocated to Huntsville with my 5yr old son who has Autism. We were told of many programs that would support our child with Autism. He was accepted into a summer camp and the camp was told about my son and we sat down with them to head counselors t...o see if they could accommodate. Frist day of camp there weren't enough counselors so we were advised it would be better for him the next day. Second day enough counselors but no one paid him any attention and he was able to grab all of his things and leave the facility in which he was found by a bystander. We were immediately told he was not able to return due to the liability. Now this same camp told us they had another facility that would be better for him. However, due to the incident from the first camp site. they were banning him from all camps. A federally funded facility that should have accommodations for both able and disabled children were not set up that way. They wanted us to provide an aid to sit with him which he didn't need. He's high functioning, speaks, potty trained, he just needs someone to care enough to help him adjust. This is when we reached out to Shane. He reached out to them and was able to turn this whole situation around within 24-48 hours. It's been a week and everything he needs is in place. The counselors even said he's doing great and very talkative extremely smart and he has a favorite counselor which helps. Thank you Shane for help my son obtain an opportunity that he wouldn't have had without your help.
