L Lisa Batts

I can't say enough amazing things about Lisa Batts and her firm. As a divorcee with three minor children and an ex-husband who made the experience as difficult as possible, I always felt safe, secure, completely protected, up to date on all information, and very respectfully handled (even when I felt... like I was going crazy). Every person in this office is amazing, and Lisa Batts is not only thorough, well-prepared, honest and upfront, and understanding of the chaos, but has a heart of gold and makes you feel like a person who is being provided with everything you need at all times. Definitely worth every penny!...I would give ten stars if I could.

PSA: if you’re in Stuart and in need of an attorney do not, I repeat, do not use L. Lisa Batts from Stuart Law Group, P.A. in downtown Stuart, FL. Dealing with her was a very frustrating learning experience I do not wish on any other person. During the entire year I spoke with my attorney 3 whole tim...es, which includes the first phone call when I retained her. She never returned phone calls and I had to send most emails twice before I would get a response. However, the most frustrating was discovering her dishonesty over what the $1500 retainer fee included. I asked for two tasks to be done. She quoted a fee. She never broke that down into two fees. MY understanding was one retainer fee for both tasks. Both minor tasks. However, in the letter confirming the retainer (after I paid) she only mentioned the first task and not the second. Being the very trusting person I am I didn’t notice nor doubt that she would also complete the second task. I have learned a very valuable lesson as now that the first task is done she has asked for an addition $1,100 for the second. I am upset, discouraged, and annoyed. Additionally, today when I showed up for court she walked into the room, asked if I was me (we had never met in person) and then sat and never spoke to me again. Didn’t explain what would happen at the hearing. Nothing. She performed well in the hearing. When it was over she did not look my way once, shake my hand, or anything. I left without so much as a goodbye or nice doing business with you. Amazing. I am huge about giving kuddos when a job is well done. I don’t usually give bad reviews. If I’m unhappy I won’t say much and just go about my way. But this was too much to keep to myself. And please, share with others. I’ll be posting this review on other sites as well. This was unacceptable business practice after the amount of money I paid.

I just finished a long and arduous divorce and if it was not for L. Lisa Batts of The Stuart Law Group, I would have been forever sunk in the divorce precedings. Ms. Batts was always a step ahead of opposing counsel and found hidden assets that I did not know existed. She was fair in her assessment... of the assets and advised quite accurately how the court would consider those assets. She was often the voice of reason when issues seemed to be skewed against me. The fees were fair and worth every penny after the ultimate outcome. My opinion the best divorce attorney out there!

Lisa Batts was completely unprepared for my temporary trial. She admitted to both myself and another lady that was walking with us after the hearing that she was unprepared. She billed me $35.00 for every e-mail that I sent her. She billed in excess of $25,000. And she managed to get me thrown out of... my home, no alimony, no temporary support. She is only in it for the money and after I reviewed her further, I found that her license was suspended in 10/2013 for 6 months. If you want to lose everything, go with Lisa, otherwise use any other attorney in town or even represent yourself. You would do better representing yourself than by using her and you would save yourself a lot of money.

Lisa Batts was a proactive advocate for my interests. She responded to my questions and made sure I was prepared for the next step in the divorce process. Her experience with difficult spouses and the legal system was invaluable. I felt I had her full attention and her desire to see my case be com...pleted in as short a time as possible. She responded to my calls and emails in a reasonable amount of time with well thought out, insightful answers. Lisa was always prepared and knows the numbers of my case inside and out. She kept me in the loop about the costs of this strategy or that strategy. I'm glad she was on my side--I wouldn't want to go up against her! She was able to finish my divorce in well under a year. I have recommended her to my friends and will continue to do so.
