Patient. Personable. Professional. Lawyers who practice with care.

I retained the services of Allison Belcher with only a week before my final divorce hearing. I had previously worked with another lawyer Who had to remove himself less than a month before the final hearing. I scrambled for the next two weeks trying to find any lawyer who could help me. I made a consu...ltation and was completely honest about my situation. Allison and her paralegal, Karren, graciously took my case and worked tirelessly to help me. My case included the dissolution of marriage with a minor child. With only a week's time, Allison worked to communicate with opposing counsel while telling me documents I needed to forward to her. She was in constant contact and assured me of the realistic outcomes of my divorce. I will be forever grateful to her for how compassionate and knowledgeable she showed to be in court. I was able to avoid a long drawn-out trial and get most of what I wanted in the end.I am grateful to the Law Office of Knox and Belcher for assisting me in the 11th hour. 5 stars.

Saving my little boy !

Mrs. Knox where do I even began? This past 10 months have been crazy ! I hired mrs Knox in October to help me keep my son in Florida with me ! My ex was trying to move to Germany with her “ fiancé “ and as you know as a father that can be very frightening .. but as I hired mrs Knox she always told me... stop stressing he’s not going anywhere ! Well as a father I always have that thought in my head ! But August 19th was our trial and I’ve never seen a side in mrs Knox that I have witnessed before she went in there aggressively and proved to the court system that it was in my sons best Interest to stay in Florida with me ! I can’t thank you enough Kristal thank you for my long phone calls and always emailing you , you have saved my life and not only did you save my life you saved my sons life . Thank you for being the amazing lawyer you are !

The BEST money I've ever spent!

If you are a woman who has left a situation of domestic violence, and you seek safety for your children and yourself; Ms. Knox is absolutely the attorney that you need. She will believe you. She will not blame you. She will work tirelessly, and she will not rest until she knows in her heart of hearts... that she’s done every single thing she can do to gain protection, safety, and stability for you and your children. I retained Ms. Knox back when she worked for her old law firm. Immediately, I clicked with her. I could see it in her eyes that while my case was going to be a big uphill battle and the chances of winning it were extremely slim (relocating 4 minor children out of state, as a stay at home mother with no income); she believed in what was morally right and just versus what would give her the most billable hours or number of case “wins”. When Ms. Knox left her old firm and started out on her own with her partner, I was a little worried. I spoke with Mr. Iken at length and immediately got the feeling that he was all about those billable hours and had little interest in representing the best interest of me and my children. I spoke with Kristal again, and again she warned me this would be a VERY difficult case, but that she would give it her all. So, I retained her at Knox and Belcher. To say I have been satisfied with my representation by Ms. Knox is a gross understatement. She has gone above and beyond for me and my children. Not only did she WIN the near impossible relocation of minor children to another state case, she was able to successfully inform the judge of an absolute injustice that had occurred during prior litigation and that was remedied. Just when I thought my dealings with Ms. Knox were over, I was hit with another whirlwind of a case with once more, near impossible to beat odds. This case was outside the normal scope of what Ms. Knox handles, but she pulled together with her partner, Ms. Belcher gave me better representation than I ever could have hoped for. I am beyond blessed to have Knox and Belcher on my team when it comes to fighting the incessant and insane battles my ex tries to throw my way. She handles them with grace, poise and integrity. The only thing I would change about my representation with Ms. Knox is that it had started sooner. I had another attorney represent me in my divorce, and Ms. Knox was able to successfully “clean that mess up” but had I gone with her from the very beginning there never would have been a mess.

Negligent and deceptive

Don't believe a word this woman says. I (like others) had my initial consultation with Kristal Knox while she was with Ayo and Iken. Impressed with the firm I was determined to raise enough to retain them. Krystal then showed up at a status conference for my case and coaxed me into retaining her a...t her newly established firm. It has been nothing but a nightmare since. Insufficient pleadings, failing to file motions, cancelled hearings, service of documents to the wrong attorney. You name it, she's screwed it up. As far as I can see Kristal's stellar track record ended when she left Ayo and Iken. You should call them if you want the sort of representation that Kristal is promising. She does not return calls, will not fight for you to see your children when your spouse is refusing to let you have any contact with them and has a half-witted incompetent paralegal (Teresa). They still haven't found the time to file the motion I need to proceed but they were quick to file a motion to withdraw when I pointed out their negligence. They even refuse to provide me an invoice. Wish I could say Allison was an innocent bystander but she's been fully aware of the problems for weeks now and has yet to return an email.

Deceptive

I hired Kristal Knox for my case based on her reviews. I gave the down payment. I recently received a letter that she left the firm I had chosen to represent me and started her own firm" Knox and Belcher." I had done an enormous amount of research before retaining the previous firm. I asked how thi...s works and what happens next. I was told it would be best and to my benefit if I wait 100 days because of Florida Bar Rules when an attorney changes employers. I asked what would happen to the money I have given and she stated. "If I wait the 100 days it will transfer over" that is all well and good but my case needs attention and I feel she has found a way to manipulate things for her benefit. Also if I chose to follow her I may lose part of the money I've already given. I had thought my case was moving along only to find out it was in limbo. Currently I am consulting with an outside attorney who specializes in Ethics for the Florida Bar who could advise.

I am happy to hear you hired me at my old firm based upon my reviews. I work very hard for my clients and truly care about them and their cases. It is not uncommon for attorneys to leave a particular law firm to either work for another firm, or open their own practice. As an attorney who has worked primarily in the field of family law for close to 11 years, I felt it was time to open my own practice. There are strict rules that one must adhere to when leaving a law firm. The letter mentioned was sent to all of my clients. That letter is meant to give all clients the choice and the ability to continue to be represented by the attorney of their choice. I have taken steps to ensure that my clients have a smooth transition and that their cases remain unaffected by my change of firms. I have no control over my previous firm and whether they choose to keep the money paid to them via the non-refundable retainer agreement or to provide it to you to so you may remain with the attorney of your choice. What I can control is what I charge the clients who choose to come with me to my new firm. If we indeed spoke about your case after my departure from my old firm, you would have been provided with the option that all clients were provided regarding credits received for money kept by my old firm. I have had many clients take advantage of this offer. I have not asked any clients to delay in retaining me for any purpose, let alone delay in retaining me for 100 days. A delay in retaining me would have no effect on whether the old firm provides the remaining portion of the non-refundable retainer to the client. Who you choose to represent you is a very important decision. Please contact me to discuss your case. Unfortunately, this review was placed anonymously, so I cannot contact you. I look forward to speaking with you.
